Chapter 7: You're At The Wrong Place, Mister

At this moment, a thought popped up in my mind.

Maybe, this is staged, by Alpha Reuben and Lizzy.

 Because there's no way the Alpha King would accept me as his mate, if it's not Alpha Reuben and his sister, that are staging this while drama, to humiliate their pathetic slave girl in front of all their guests. 

What do they stand to gain in all of these?

As the thought lingered in my head, I  turned my head and glared at Lizzy. The anger in me made me so brave that for the first time, I shot numerous daggers at her, with my eyes.

“…..do accept Melissa Owens of the Viperine Pack, as my mate and Luna.” 

The Alpha King completed his statement making the spinning in my head to come to a stop, abruptly.

What did he just say? He has accepted me as his…..

Suddenly, murmurs erupted from the crowd. After a few seconds, wherever was quiet again.

I opened my mouth to say something, to tell him that I reject him, or tell him that all Alphas are the same. But I couldn't.

In my head, Sassy was trying to convince me to give him a chance, and I really wanted to give him that chance, but I was scared.

Scared of what is happening right now!

Scared of what might happen after now!

“My king,” I began, bowing my head in reverence. He quickly moved closer and grabbed me.

“What are you doing?” He asked innocently.

“Bowing to you, of course.” I answered immediately.

“You'll do no such thing.” His intense stare, held my eyes and warmed up my thighs.

“My mate shouldn't bow to me or any other person.” I was speechless.

He made a signal to his beta and a chair was soon situated besides his.  He held my hand and led me to the table. 

I sat besides him and put my hands under the table, to pinch myself, so that I would wake up from this dream and return to the land of reality.

The ceremony continued but my mind was trying to figure out how all this things happened.

“Your Highness, if you'll excuse me, I'll like to use the washroom.” 

I requested, because I needed a private space to process things.

“I'll excuse you if you will call me something else, other than ‘your Highness’.

“Something else?”

Like what?”

I asked in confusion. 

“Call me my name then, Enzo.”

“Excuse me. And why should I do that?”

“Because you're my mate,”

“I'm afraid that will be pretty difficult at this point. Just let me call you ‘Your Highness' for now, please.”

“Okay! Since you insist.”

“Thank you so much. Am I excused now?”

“Of course, you are excused.”

“Thank you, Your Highness.”

That been said, I stood up from the seat and moved.

I tried to find the best possible way to maneuver myself out of the crowd, to the restroom, so that I could avoid as many eyes as possible.

That strategy didn't work much, as I still felt a good number of eyeballs on my body. I kept my head low, trying hard to avoid their gazes.

It took all the energy in me, not to fall down, because I got so distracted by the unusual attention, that I couldn't concentrate on walking.

I then walked towards the restroom and push it open.

I was about to close the door when I felt a hand preventing it from closing. I pushed it harder, and was  about to close it when I heard her voice.

“Don't you want me to tell you congratulations on this big win.”

Erica? How did she follow me and I never noticed?

I stopped pushing immediately and Erica ran through the door as fast as possible. She jumped on me, wrapping her arms around me in a tight hug.

“Girl! Congratulations!” 

Congratulations!

That was a word I've not been so used to. It was so strange to me that at the moment I didn't know the right reply to it.

Maybe I'll ask Eric to help me out with the right reply, since it seems that I'm going to be hearing it  lot these days.

I wasn't as happy as Erica thought that I was. Finding a mate would be as thrilling as finding gold in a gold mine. But if the first three times you found gold in the gold mine, it turned out that it wasn't real gold, the fourth time wouldn't be so exciting.

“Promise me you'll give me all the gist when all this is over.” 

Erica requested excitedly.

“I promise!” 

I raised my hand up, like a boy scout, to confirm this. She laughed.

Let me leave you now.

She started walking towards the door. When she reached it, she grabbed the handle and swung it open.

“I would have forgotten to ask something very important.”

She started talking, while still holding the door open.

“And what is that important thing you almost forgot?”

I asked, keeping my voice as amusing as I could.

She shut the door again and walked towards me.

“Are you going to follow His Highness to the Silver Crescent Pack tonight?”

“Huh!!”

I'm short of words to say. My mind never went that far.

“I never thought that far!”

“So what now?” She quizzed gently.

I thought about the way his defense minister had looked down on me, and the ladies that came with them. They made sure to show me with their eyes that I'm not worth the king.

“Erica, I don't want to..….”

“Don't even try completing that statement.” 

She interrupted me, becoming impatient and bossy all of a sudden.

“How can you even think of staying back. If you must know, this is your only chance to escape, and free yourself from this mess.”

She paused and moved closer to me.

“So grab it with both hands girl!” She grabbed my hands in hers to demonstrate her point.

“I scared! I'm scared that this may not be exactly like we think.”

“I'm scared too!” 

She responded unexpectedly.

“Oh! Are you?”

“No! I'm only scared that my dear friend may allow her fears to stop her from taking the one shot that she's got.”

She released my hands, and moved back. 

“Girl, you need to go for this with everything you've got.”

“Okay! I'll ask him for at least two days to get myself ready for my new life.”

“Well, if that is what you want, two days isn't too much.”

“Now that's exactly what I wanted to hear from you. I can't just follow him, I mean this is the fourth.  So, I can't be so happy like it the first time of finding a mate.”

Erica only smiled.

“I guessed we'll have time before you leave then.”

She moved towards the door again.

“I'll come see you when the damn party is over, and your darling mate is gone.”

“Thanks Ma'am!” 

I bowed to her and she laughed.

“You must be crazy. I don't know if I in any way, look like your mistress, Lizzy.”

“Sometimes! Especially when you give me orders.”

We both laughed sarcastically.

“Speaking of the devil! She would kill you if she still have the chance.”

She shot the door.

Her last statement lingered a little longer in my mind.

I rushed to the sink to let out the urine I had held up for so long. In my rush, I stained my gown with the urine.

“Fuck!” 

How could I make a mess of myself?

I took the only option I had, and pulled up the gown, to wash the urine.

I was almost naked, except that that a red panties covered my pelvis and my bra covered my boobs.

I didn't mind since this was the female restroom and I was alone at the moment.

I wanted to do this as fast as possible and possibly heat-dry it at the dryer.

I was still holding my dress out for the heat from the hand dryer to dry it when the door suddenly swung open with so much force, making a loud noise.

I turned around and when I saw it was a man, I flinched. 

“You're…. You're at the wrong place, Mister. This is the female restroom.”

I stammered. I didn't know which part of my body was most important and the part I should cover, since I didn't have time to wear the dress.

In my haste, I ended up covering my stomach with it.

“Am I? I think this is the right place I should be.”

The voice was so familiar, making me to lift up my face that was down in embarrassment. 

I looked up slowly, and the figure my gaze fell on, was nothing but my nightmare. All I could do was to stutter.

“How did….how did…how?
