What's Happening

Vix was still a bit weary but he reached out and grasped Rian by the hand. He was careful not to grasp too hard knowing how much stronger he was from humans. Rian looked at Shina and then back at Vix before letting his hand fall to his side. "Would you like to join us for lunch Vix? I brough a bunch of foods and drinks because Shina hasn't eaten much lately." 

Vix looked at Shina with an accusing look "We will definately have to change that moving forward." Shina looked a bit ashamed and nodded "Understood...but um. I wasn't done asking questions. Can...can Rian hear everything too?" Rian looked back and forth between them a quizical expression on his face and Vix glanced at him. "That's find if you trust this human." Shina nodded "He is like a brother to me at this point. I don't have any family so he is the closest thing." Rian looked at Shina in surprise but smiled softly "Yes I claim her as family too, but why so secretive...are you not actually her boyfriend?" Rian asked as he started to take food and drinks from bags and boxes covering the table with it all. Shina cleared her throat and looked at Rian and then at Vix and then back to Rian. "Vix is...um well. He is my Mate, or am I his Mate...or..." She looked at Vix pleading for help with her eyes. "I'm Vix Ryker from the wolf territory. I recognized Shina as my mate so we are discussing what all of that means." Vix said finally relaxing he sat back down where he had been and Rian sat int he chair beside Shina as she sat back down too. 

Everything was silent for a moment and then Vix pushed an open box of food towards Shina a burger and fries were inside and he looked at her pointedly. She tilted her head for a moment and then nodded picking it up and starting to eat. The food hitting her tongue made her make a small groan she hadn't realized how hungry she was. Vix's eyes flashed silver when she groaned and he shifted in his seat. Rian looked at Vix thoughtfully and pulled a salad over to himself. "So what does it all mean then? Does that mean Shina can't be an artist anymore?" The statement made Shina almost drop her food and she looked at Vix panic in her eyes. Art was all she had it was who she was she couldn't give that up. Vix smiled softly "You can keep up with your art and you can even keep working with the Agent and companies you have been here in the Human territory. We actually have a few businesses here in the human territory that help fund our packs needs." Shina calmed down a bit and started eating again.

Rian ate silently for a few moments "So nothing really changes then? Does she get to keep staying here while you get to know eachother?" Vix looked a bit uncomfortable with the question "Well, mates are a bit diffrent than datings as a human. We just know eachother, our souls call out and it's hard to control once we meet." Rian's brows furrowed and he looked at Shina "So you are just going to take her...even if she doesn't want to go?" Vix couldn't help the small growl that rummbled in his chest and Rian flinched "I wont force her. If she wants to reject me that's her right." Rian nodded "Right you guys get that second chance mate thing sometimes right. So you can just move on and find someone else right?" Something painful crossed Vix's face and his jaw clenched so hard you could hear his teeth coming together. "I can't.." He said honestly. Vix looked at Shina for a moment and then looked away and his voice sounded broken as he spoke "Shina is my second chance....my last chance." 

Shina felt conflicted and something bubbled up in her maybe jealousy or hurt. She wasn't sure. "So I'm just the consulation prize after the first didn't work out?" She asked her voice sad. She thought for a moment that being someones mate wasn't so bad she'd finally have a family a real family. Being Luna of the pack would be like being a mother to thousands of others. Then eventually she might even get to have kids of her own. Her words must have hurt Vix because he got up rather quickly and paced away taking some deep breaths. It took him a moment to calm down. "You aren't a consulation Shina, you are my mate. My first mate...she..she died the same day I met her." He said his back was still turned towards them and he seemed to be struggling. As Shina heard what he said she was ashamed "I'm sorry Vix." She replied softly. He turned back and walked to his seat "It isn't your fault you didn't know." 

Rian had gotten really silent during the exchange he looked at Vix for a long time and then nodded. "I'm sorry as well I didn't mean to bring up something painful.  It also makes sense why you want to take her so quickly if you lost your first mate." Shina pushed away the now empty food box and Vix pushed some fruit infront of her. She looked at him for a moment but then huffed and pursed her lips in a pout before putting a piece of fruit in her mouth. Vix watched her with intrest as she did his eyes resting on her mouth as she bit into the fruit. After a moment he looked at Rian again. "I know it seems strange to humans, it seems like we are just taking our mate without giving them any real option. To tell the truth if I wasn't an Alpha I would let Shina choose to go to the pack or to stay here. But I don't have that option."

Rian looked over in surprise "Alpha?" and Shina nodded and shrugged a shoulder. She looked over at Vix and watched him his eyes seemed out of focus for a moment and he got really quiet. She was about to get his attention when he blinked and looked at her. "Would it be okay for two of my pack mates to come in and meet you now?" He asked and Shina looked at him in surprise. "I guess so..." She said softly finsihing off her fruit and snagging a coffee from the table before standing up.
