The Start of Something

Shina sat down at the table in the small kitchen area on the first floor of the studio. She gestured for Vix to sit in the chair opposite her. After a moment of watching her he moved and sat down, his gaze seemed to drink all of her in. Shina took in a slow breath and then let it out even slower. It was a little nerve racking to be looked at like that. She wasn't sure if he wanted to memorize her every feature or eat her. Maybe both now that she thought about it.

Vix cleared his throat and sat back in the chair making himself as comfortable as possible. "So." He said leaving the air open for her to speak. Shina nodded thoughtfully. "So...last night. I think I was a bit rude. You said...ummm well you said mate right?" the word mate came out a bit more hushed than the rest of the sentance. Shina blushed a bit and ran a hand through her long raven black hair. Vix nodded "Yes that's right. I sensed you were my mate, but you thought I was a crazy person right?" The light blush on her cheeks darkened and Shina looked down. "Look about that, I'm so sorry. I wasn't trying to reject you or anything, I just hadn't slept in a few days or ate actually. I was just super tired and wasn't really using my brain at all." Shina sort of word vomited she was nervous and still a little in shock. 

Vix rose an eyebrow at her rushed explanation and he was a bit concerned about her lack of sleep and eating. "It's alright, it's a hard thing for humans to understand at first. Most don't even sense the bond until they've been marked officially." Shina quarked her lips thoughtfully "What do you mean...sense the bond? Is that why you smell like cinnamon and churned earth? And why you keep zapping me when you touch my skin? You feel super warm too." Vix looked at her in surprise "Well, I'm surprised you can smell my scent but yes that and the zapping. Well we call it an energy pulse but it's kind of like zapping. But the warmth thing is because wolves just run hot." Vix smiled softly and Shina laughed a little. "So...then what do I smell like?" She was curious now which Vix thought was a really good thing.

Even though he remembered exactly what she smelled like he leaned forwards and sniffed the air his eyes closing as he got lost for a moment. "Like warm honeysuckles and and pine forest." He said his voice a little raspy and falling down an octive as the scent wrapped around him. Shina couldn't deny that watching him did something to her, her body felt a bit warm and she pressed her hand to her stomach because it felt tight. 

Shina cleared her throat and chewed her lip for a moment "So, what now?" She asked curiously watching for a reaction from Vix. "Well, first do you know much about packs and how they work?" he asked and waited patiently for an answer. Shina nodded "We learned about it in school, I understand it because I also did a few reports on pack structure for extra credit." She was still word vomiting a bit from nerves but figured it'd all be okay. Vix nodded, "Well some wolves with human mates decide to move into the human territory, they have to get special documents and it's all very monitored. However, that wouldn't be an option for me." Shina was listening carefully but her stomach dropped a bit when he said moving here to be near her wouldn't work for him. "Why not?" She asked her voice a little hesitant now. 

Vix rubbed his hands on the legs of his jeans thoughtfully for a moment "That's because, I'm an Alpha. I lead a rather large pack near here. This means you'd become my Luna as my mate. You are very important to not just me but my pack as well." Shina was not prepared for that one, she'd be a Luna. Those were very important to a wolf pack. She would have to help Vix lead wolves. But she was a human how could she boss around a bunch of wolves and keep them safe. She was just an artist, she was physically fit and she even took self defence and had learned martial arts. But she was still just a human. 

The silence seemed to drag on and Vix was starting to worry as Shina seemed a bit distraught with the news. He opened his mouth to speak but Shina beat him to it. "So...I'd have to move to the Wolf territory then? To your pack right?" Vix took a breath hoping she wouldn't say she didn't want that. "That's right, and it'd need to be soon. Since you are Luna we have to keep you safe and that'd be hard to do in the human Territory." Shina nodded thoughtfully and looked like she was about to speak again but the sound of the front door opening stopped her. Vix snapped up out of his chair and turned toward the door stepping infront of Shina as he did. He growled as the scent of a male entered the house.

Shina was surprised by Vix's sudden reaction but then she realized the fron door was opening and in walked Rian with some bags of food and some drinks. "I know you haven't eaten so I took it upon mys..." Rian's words trailed off when he saw the very large and handsome man protectively standing infront of Shina. 

"What's this?" Rian asked letting the front door close as he stood there with his hands full of food and drinks. Shina stood up because she could see the muscles in Vix's back tightening and she had heard the growl he was trying to protect her and claiming her at the same time. It seemed a bit dangerous but she let her fingers brush his back and he instantly relaxed but not completely. "Rian...this is Vix Ryker he is...ummm well he is..." Vix cleared his throat and stepped forward "I'm Shina's boyfriend." He said smoothly and Shina's eyes went wide with his declaration. Rian opened his mouth then closed it and repeated this a few times. Then he walked in slowly placed everything on the table and turned towards Vix. "I'm Rian, I work as the Agent in charge of Shina."
