Jasmine's POV

I turned around and tilted my head to glance at the source of the voice.

“Mind if I take the seat beside you?” His deep, velvety voice spoke.

I nodded slowly, as though I were in a trance.

He was tall, so tall that he was towering over me. His eyes were a rich blue that seemed to cast a spell on anyone they looked at. His face and looks were so perfectly sculpted that he could pass for a semi-god.

There was something about his aura I couldn't place my hands on. It was so strong that it felt intimidating.

“What's your name? I'm Kai.”

He stretched his hand for a handshake.

“I'm Jasmine. Nice to meet you.” My voice sounded foreign to my ears.

“Jasmine…” My name rolled off so easily on his tongue that I was beginning to imagine how much better it would sound somewhere else ins…

Eww, Jasmine. A man you just met? I rolled my eyes internally.

“Beautiful name. Just like its owner.”

My face heated up, and I looked everywhere else in the room apart from him.

Wasn't this flirting? Not that I hated it. I mean, it did feel good coming from him.

Elsa was restless and uncomfortable since he had walked in. I could feel it. It was not the uncomfortable one felt when meeting a creepy person, but the uncomfortable of… I myself couldn't explain it.

He flashed me a small smile and placed his tumbler on his lips. Every little action of his and the way he carried himself gracefully and confidently almost made me drool.

I lifted my tumbler to my lips and consumed every content in it in one go.

This was my first time trying alcohol, and it tasted… weird.

I clamped the handle of the tumbler tightly as my face changed visibly.

I glanced at Kai immediately and noticed his eyes had been on me all the time.

There was a slight smirk on his lips. “First time?”

I couldn't deny it, and even if I tried, I was so bad at lying.

“Yes.” I smiled, embarrassed.

Kai signaled and muttered something at the bartender, who immediately took my empty tumbler and returned a few seconds later with a refilled one.

“Thank you.” I smiled appreciatively.

He nodded in acknowledgment and took another sip of his drink.

“So, what made you try alcohol for the first time? Heartbreak?”

My hands froze mid-air. How did he know? Was it that obvious?

Again, I could lie or deny it, since I was so bad at it.

I nodded. “Sad, isn't it?”

Kai's eyes pierced into mine intensely for a while and then looked away.

I tensed anxiously. Had he smelt it—that I wasn't a member of this pack? Was I going to be killed? Most importantly, who was going to pay for the drinks?

“Mind sharing details?” Kai propped his forearm on the table, leaning closer.

Elsa whimpered as the scent of his cologne hit my nose.

I couldn't even breathe properly with him being so close to me.

“Um, sure.” I tried to sound casual.

“Found his mate after we've been together for over five years. She's my sister.”

“It really gets worse.”

“Yeah, it does.” I found his response slightly amusing.

“Alcohol solves nothing, though. Why don't you come with me to show you something that'll be worth your time?” A grin played on his lips and his intense gaze narrowed on mine.

“W-what do you mean?” I stammered, even though I clearly understood what he meant.

I could see it in his eyes, and rather unfortunately, I wanted it too.

I had been cheated on; I had lost everything, and it would be an utter waste if I lost this golden opportunity to explore this hot stranger.

Time seemed to slow down at that moment as we both stared into each other's eyes.

“But this is a public place.” My voice came out in a whisper.

“Don't worry about that. I own a hotel behind this place.”

He took my no response as a yes and led me by hand out of the bar hurriedly.

Perhaps it was because of the alcohol, but my senses were now completely heightened, and as soon as we entered into the elevator, I pressed myself against him desperately and began to kiss him.

I fumbled awkwardly with his shirt buttons and tried to feel everywhere on his well-sculpted, perfect body at once.

“You want it that bad, huh?” He chuckled in amusement, the deep rumble of his rich laughter sending ripples through my stomach.

The elevator stopped in front of a room with large doors, and Kai pushed the door open.

Using a leg to kick the door closed, he pinned me against the wall.

He wrapped his hand around the back of my neck while his lips violated mine.

His hands fumbled with my dress and, with a flick, it went down, leaving me in just my bra and panties.

His hands cupped my bare ass and squeezed, sending ripples of pleasure through me.

I moaned as he kissed and bit the area behind my neck.

One of his hands managed to unhook my brassiere, freeing my breasts.

I whimpered in pleasure as his hands trailed lower, just right before my crotch.

I pressed my crotch against his arousal, making him growl.

Kai disentangled from the kiss and lifted me easily and lowered me onto the bed.

He dropped to his knees while parting my legs and stared at me passionately.

“Can I?” he whispered.

How could I say no when we had gotten to this point?

I was so wet now that I wished he could abandon all other protocols and fuck the hell out of me.

My body tensed and quivered in anticipation and heat as he brought his face close to my core.

A shrill, loud sound suddenly broke the silence.

“Fuck.” Kai growled in frustration.

His eyes held a tinge of apology in them as he glanced at me, and I nodded in acknowledgment.

His left hand brought closer the phone that had been ringing, and the caller's name was boldly written on the screen:
