Scarlett's POV

By the time I woke up, I felt very tired. It felt like I worked three shifts the whole night rather than working. I forced myself up from the bed. I checked round the house for Franklin, but he wasn't in the house

I walked into the bathroom, had my bath, and brushed my teeth.

When I was done, I called Michelle over the phone.

“Hello bitch.” She said, and I chuckled.

“What's good, pretty?” I asked, and she rolled her eyes at me.

“I'm alive. I need to see a man as soon as possible for real.” She groaned, sighing.

“I guess it's a good thing I've not had sex yet.” I said, and she shook her head.

“It's the next best thing after ice cream.” Michelle groaned.

“Whatever.” I rolled my eyes. I badly wanted to tell her about the kiss, but I couldn't risk Franklin hearing about it. He'd literally get very angry.

“So, what are you going to do about that now?” I asked, and she chuckled.

“In a week or so, we have the joint Academies summit.” Michelle said, and my eyes widened. I had totally forgotten about that.

“That's true.” I muttered. “Security would be so tight.”

“That's not the important part. There'd be very many boys for me to choose from.” She giggled.

“So, just a week?” I muttered.

“Where are you right now? That doesn't look like your room.”

“I'm at Franklin's.” I muttered, and Michelle winked at me.

“Are you already getting the wood of a beast?” She asked, chuckling.

“Girl, shut the fuck up.” I rolled my eyes. I could feel my face turn red from blushing too much.

We kept talking until I heard Franklin's thuds around the house.

“Okay, I'll call you back.” I said, ending the call.

It was still dawn, and I'd have to head back in less than an hour. I made it downstairs, and Franklin was on the chair. He sent me a tired look.

“What's wrong?” I asked, hurrying to sit beside me.

“Erm… I'm very tired.” Franklin said. Those words coming from him sounded very strange. They almost made me scared that something evil was going on with him.

“Have you been out all night?” I asked.

“No.” He muttered. “I only stepped out for a while.”

“Are you hungry?” I asked.

“Yeah.”

“What would you like to eat ?” I asked. “Let me cook for you.”

“Is it possible to eat you?” Franklin asked, and I wasn't sure if that was in a literal way, or a sexual way.

“Erm… no… I'm not yet on the menu, so you have to settle for something else.” I replied, breathing really hard.

“I'll settle for whatever you cook.” Franklin said, and I chuckled.

I had asked him what he wanted like I knew how to make more than two dishes. I checked the cupboard, and it had everything one could ever need to cook.

I fried potatoes, since that was the easiest thing I could make without failing.

Franklin took over while I fried. He must have noticed how hard I was having it with the oil.

“Wait for two minutes.” Franklin said, leaving the kitchen for two minutes. When he came back, he held two grasscutters in his hands.

I would have asked how, but that's the least of the questions in my head at the moment.

Franklin finished roasting the grasscutters. I set the table, and we sat to eat.

His mood changed greatly over the meal.

“When was the last time you ate a human?” I jokingly asked.

“Last night.” He responded with a straight face.

“You… you're… you're… you're joking, right?” I asked, chuckling nervously.

Franklin shook his head, looking very serious.

“I stepped out for a while because a human was in the area.” He said, taking a bite of the grasscutter in his hand. “And just in case you didn't know, I need human blood to survive.”

“Seriously?” I asked, and a new fear was unlocked in me. “His blood was terrible, that's why I felt very tired when I walked in.” Franklin said, and I gently nodded my head.

With widened eyes, I turned back to what I was eating.

“You shouldn't make jokes like that anymore.” Franklin scoffed. I looked up gently at him. He was shaking his head. I probably look more terrified than I should.

“I didn't kill anyone, and I don't need human blood to survive.” He said, and I heaved a sigh of relief.

“Thank goodness.” I said, finally breathing properly.

“There's a full moon in two days.” Franklin said, and I nodded .

“Yeah, why?” I asked, and he looked gently at me.

“I always lose control on such nights.” Franklin said. “It's like I sleep very deeply, and my body just acts on its own.”

I nodded gently, trying not to imagine the insanely horrible things that he'd do on such nights.

“Does that explain the bodies in the other room there?” I asked calmly, and he nodded.

“4 years, and 48 full moons.” Franklin said. “Just 30 bodies, that's good in my books.”

I chuckled, almost laughed even. “Was that supposed to be a joke?”

“Not really.” Franklin shrugged.

“Given the rampage I'm usually on every full moon, which is evident by the markings on trees, and the number of dead animals,” Franklin took a brief pause, “it's a miracle that I've not killed more than that.”

When I was done eating, I changed back into my masculine clothes.

“How do you manage to look good both as a girl and as a guy?” Franklin asked out of the blue, and I chuckled.

“Good genes?”

“Nah, genes can't do stuff like this alone.” Franklin argued.

I held his arm while we walked outside.

“How do you think life would be when you finally shift back to your human state?” I asked, and he shrugged.

“I'm just trying to stay neutral.” Franklin shrugged. I was sure that bringing hope in this situation wasn't so easy for him to accept.”

“Well, not for long anymore.” I said, hugging him. Before I could try to disengage from the hug, I could already feel my body in the sky. He was taking me back to the Academy.

We said our goodbyes, and I snuck back into the Academy. Zion and Thane were out of reach since they were both preparing for the sports competition in the evening, so I was all alone, walking round the halls.

I passed by a classroom, and I saw Alpha Harry with another guy. I might have to deal with this man one way or another, and it'd have to be done quickly.

I was walking straight to my room when I bumped into someone. I was literally falling to the ground when he caught me up. He pulled me up, missing my boobs by just an inch, or less. He was all sweaty, and he was breathing really fast.

“I'm so sorry.” He apologized, and I stared into his golden eyes, shaking my head till I was perfectly okay. “Are you fine now?”

“Yeah.” I said. “Who are you?” I couldn't stop myself from asking. He looked weirdly familiar, but I couldn't exactly place the face.

“Just a random guy.” He shrugged, and that was when I saw registrar John running behind.

He continued jogging, leaving me dumbfounded.

John stopped right in front of me, breathing really hard.

“That… that… that's…” He was still panting heavily.

“Huh? Did he do something wrong?” I asked, ready to give chase if he asked.

“That's the King!” He said.

Scarlett's POV It was already evening, and I had been engrossed in the book all day. I only stopped for a while to speak with Michelle over the phone. I also ate during that time. When it was time for the dinner and awards ceremony, I got dressed in a suit. Thane didn't come home the whole day, and I was a little worried about him. At the ceremony, I saw him speaking with the registrar and Alpha Harry. I felt calmer. I sighted Zion walking towards me, and I smiled as he sat beside me. “So, how's it going?” Zion asked, and I shrugged.“I feel the intense urge to run out of the Academy to check up on Franklin.” I sighed. “He was badly hurt when I last left him.”“Why do I sense a but coming?” “But I'm scared of losing my life.” I said. “As you should be.” Zion muttered.“Because what if he decides to kill me? Or do something even worse to me?” “I don't believe he'd do that.” Zion said, sounding very convinced. “Well, have you started reading your book?” I asked, and he nodded at

Thane's POV After my short workout session, I hurried back to the room to have my bath. Scarlett was still sleeping peacefully at that time. I slipped into the bathroom, slipped out when I was done, and changed into fresh clothes. I went over my plan to swoon the King all over again. If there's a chance for me to rise above being just a regional Alpha, and seize more power than my parents think, maybe I'll have the freedom to do whatever I choose.I walked out of the room, and headed straight for the Registrar's office. “Come in.” He ordered before I could knock on his door. He was holding the morning's newspapers, which made me wonder who still uses them. “Good morning , Registrar.” I greeted. “Morning, Thane.” He responded , dropping the papers on the table. “Are you ready?”“I nodded, having released most of the tension in my body, “I am.” Registrar Thane stood up and led me out of the office to the King's quarters in the Academy. It was sparkling clean. I tried to maintain t

Scarlett's POV I was feeling a lot of pain in my lower abdomen. Although it was getting better over time, it still hurt. My phone rang while I was still on the bed. It was already very bright, and Thane had left the room. Although Friday is a free day, he had to do something with King Jon. “Hi girl.” I moaned, still laying on the bed.“What's up with you? Why are you looking like you got bent over the whole night?” Michelle asked with a sassy tone.I raised an eyebrow, and nodded once.“Wait… ah… fucking… minute!” Michelle giggled. I squealed as she giggled. I then started laughing, rolling over my aching stomach. “You got some D?”“I did.” I giggled, rolling my eyes.“Wait…” Michelle frowned, “don't tell me it was some beast shit you did right there.” “No.” I said, taken aback. “It was Thane.”“Thane as in the disrespectful , handsome , and tall Thane?” She asked, and I nodded gently, still giggling. “Well, that's one hell of a catch.” Michelle said. “You just moved from ‘scared

Thane's POV I woke up almost an hour earlier than my usual time. It was still very dark. The time was just 4:32AM. In a very long time, that was the best sleep I had had, although it was very short. I never expected it to happen. I had spent the evening begging Rose to come over, but she wouldn't agree because it was a full moon and their security was always at its peak due to the invasion of several boys. I planned to jerk off for most of the night until it all happened. I managed not to move as Scarlett was in my arms. She had slept off almost immediately after we had sex. It was immediately after she had her bath. I stared at her face, feeling my chest pump really hard. I had had sex with several girls, and there's nothing that should make this feel like the best I've had, although it does. Everything about it was perfect. From the soft kisses, to the aggressive ones, to the slow pounding. It was all good. I most likely would have made the move if she hadn't. Slowly, her eye

Scarlett's POV I finally composed myself, and I made my way to the theatre. I saw Zion immediately I walked in, and luckily, the seat beside him was free. I wriggled my way through till I finally sat beside him. “What… how…?” Zion asked, shaking his head. He folded his arms, and his eyes widened like he had just seen a ghost. “I almost died tonight, and so many things happened, but can we forget that right now?” I asked, and he nodded slowly, looking at me with surprise.“Just one question, though.” Zion asked, and I looked at him. “Is our royal beast alright?”I sighed, shaking my head, “I'm not sure.” We watched the movie in silence. It was unexpectedly funny. The arts department then had the stage to themselves, but all through that time, I was more focused on the king. Then, out of nowhere, people started leaving one by one.“What's going on?” I asked Zion.“It's a full moon.” He shrugged. “They're either going for a r

Scarlett's POVI was barely out of the house when I heard Franklin break the chains that held him down so tightly. I immediately knew that I was finished. I should have just listened to him from the onset. I ran into the woods where he knew best, and I heard the doors fling wide open. I heard him roar rather than howl. There was only one way to survive this, and it was in my wolf. Rather than shifting, I just kept running. I couldn't bear losing my phone, or having to shift in front of the guards if I get to safety. IF!My legs burned with pain, but I couldn’t stop. The sound of Franklin’s roar echoed behind me, shaking the trees around me. I tripped on a root but caught myself just in time.Run, Scarlett. Just run.Branches whipped my face, and the darkness around me felt like it was closing in. The full moon was the only thing that lit the path only slightly, and even that didn’t feel comforting anymore. I could hear him crashing through the forest behind me, fast and wild.At one
