Chapter thirty seven

I jumped up on the stage and grapped the demon by the neck, lifting him to the air.

I could feel all eyes on me but i didn't care. I was ready to teach this one a lesson.

"How dare you touch what belongs to the king?! Now you are going to pay for it!" I said and started to tighten my grip on his neck even more.

"I... I won't do it a... again." he said in a pleading voice and i flung him to the side. He slide off the stage and my eyes met with that of the crowd's.

They looked questioningly at me but that wasn't my main concern. I turned to Melanie and saw her seated in the cage, her back on the bars. She was shaking in fright and sweating as well.

I was about to talk to her when i suddenly saw my uncle's eyes on me. It was too risky for me to act that way. I just pulled the lever that would take Melanie back down to the underground room then i left my uncle with the guests to deal with.
