Priestess Nehes was just in time to protect herself and the rest by projecting a shield of her own. The blue eye was so powerful that it could freeze a living thing that it considered as an enemy. No one knew about it but her—and her sister.

Kent looked at Elise adoringly as she closed her two normal eyes while the third eye was open. He saw it emitted a silver aura that extended and targeted the snakes. They all perished into dusts in the desert sands.
Elise repressed her third eye again and opened her two eyes.
It was time for the soldiers to act. Elise and the others stepped away from them as the Medjay gave the order to attack.
General Meru also ordered his soldiers to charge at the same time the Medjay shouted his.
Bows and arrows were exchanged. Body shields clung as spears and others were plunged here and there. The bloody battle kept going.
The four teenagers regrouped. So did the witch p
Meru was flabbergasted at the result of his short battle with Mazoi. He curled his fists and clenched his jaw in fury. He remembered what the Medjay said to him while they were fighting. It was mind boggling. He did not even pay attention to Priestess Nehes who saved him from the elite seer’s unleashing of the phoenixes.Priestess Nehes left him alone and contemplated on what she would do to defeat the elite seer. They were one priest down already. No one saw it coming.****Priestess Ahotep helped Priestess Nofretete heal the wounds in her thighs. She was still shrieking until the wounds were healed completely.“The young foreigner witch priestess is really something!” Priestess Ahotep uttered.“I shall get her to pay for this!” Priestess Nofretete vowed angrily.“And I shall avenge my brother!” the sorcerer priest affirmed indignantly.Priestess Ahotep just smiled
“My mother was a slave,” Diana revealed, pausing as she waited for some reactions.“No!” Elise said in a whisper.“Really! Back in Mexico, she used to come home everyday with a bruise or a wound in different parts of her body. Originally, my grandmother was the slave of a rich family back there.”Elise could see what she was talking about as her friend relayed her real-life story. It was the first time she read the soul of her Hispanic friend.“My father could not do anything about it,” she continued. “It was because my grandmother owed a lot to that rich family a long time ago. Of what, we did not even have a clue. So, when my grandma died, my mother was taken as a slave in lieu of her. She was already married, you could imagine. She had me then.“I was already nine or ten and was studying at a local school. Everyday, I looked at her face with bruises and wounds. It was very traumatic for
Kent followed Eric, smiling at the girls’ childish behavior. He threw a friendly arm around his friend’s shoulders.“Are you fine now?” The Medjay walked over to where they stood.Eric turned to the Medjay and answered him. “Yeah! I’m fine. Sure!”Kent understood how Eric felt toward Diana’s past. And he realized lately his friend’s feelings for her—after all this time. He was blinded by his own attraction to Elise to even notice it. Until now…“I really didn’t pay any attention to it, pal,” Kent murmured in a low voice.Eric just chuckled and materialized three cans of beer by magic. He gave one to Kent and another to the Medjay. The Medjay stared at it suspiciously until the two young foreigners drank from it. He followed suit. He spat out the beer at first. “What in the desert is this?” he asked with a scowling face.“We call it b
The four teenagers smiled at each other happily. At last, they were able to meet the king, and perhaps he could tell them why they were sucked into this primitive and yet magical place. However, Diana was grateful on the other hand. It was because she was able to contemplate how such a magnificent yet silly red-haired guy meant to her. She could still recall the first time she saw him. She was with her popular friends at the canteen when she was in her sophomore year. She was just a new member of the cheerleading team.Everybody at the canteen seemed to have blond, brown or brunette hair. But when he entered at the canteen, her eyes seemed to be drawn to this red-haired guy. He was grinning so wide while he talked with his fellow football players. From then on, Diana was aware of his presence. But she soon discovered that he talked so loud and that he was sometimes nitpicky. She felt discouraged and was turned off at his behavior. Nevertheless, she could not ign
Diana followed Eric until near the bank of the river. Eric sat on the ground with a scowling face. It was around mid-afternoon but the sun was still prickling hot. She materialized a huge parasol to protect them as she sat beside the silly, nitpicky red-haired guy she adored for some years now. She did not say anything but just sat there beside him.Eric turned to her. “You can say I’m silly at times, right?” he began.Diana just looked at him in the face without saying a word. Eric smiled to himself and looked at the lapping of the water on the river bank like something was disturbing its current. But he did not pay any attention to it.Without his or Diana’s knowledge, monsters were born on the riverbed from a bubble, a pair of serpopards and another pair of griffins sat underneath the waters.Serpopards had long neck like a serpent’s with a head of a lion and each had a lioness body. Whereas the griffins, they had four lim
They all went inside the king’s tent to talk about some strategy. They were gathered standing around the table with fruits, some other types of foods and wine. They all helped themselves while they talked on who takes who.“I shall naturally take the general for myself,” Mazoi said quickly before anyone could make a decision. They all agreed though.“Then I shall take the Cobra King for myself,” King Hor-Aha said. They all agreed, of course, to that.“I shall take on the sorcerer priest,” Zadi volunteered.“No, I don’t think so. I’m sure he’s going to take his revenge on me for taking the life of his twin brother,” Eric said to Zadi.“Zadi, you must not concern yourself. You can be our back up anytime. You just have to conserve your energy after you initiated us all,” Diana said kindly to the pygmy. “And I shall finish that shrieking pries
Elise fell asleep with the Book of Gates in her hands.Kent stirred from his sleep and woke up because of a bad dream. In his dream, he saw around five serpents that crawled so fast to strike Elise from behind. She was calling for his help. He tried to intervene by cutting them with his invisible sword. However, they were as hard like diamonds that even his powerful invisible sword could not even scratch them. He was also running for his life when the serpents turned to him and one of them was about to strike him in his back… that was when he woke up.He sat up, put his hands on his face and stood up.Diana stirred and saw Kent looking down at Elise lovingly and with deep concern. The first time she saw him, or noticed him rather, was when she caught him looking at Elise that way while they were on the field, rehearsing a new routine. Eric was so busy in practicing his tackle while Kent just stood there, as if mesmerized while staring at E
Elise was busy avoiding the spells of Priestess Nehes cast on her. She threw back spells against the enemy priestess now and then as well but the priestess had some kind of a shield that she did not even blink an eye to avoid any of her spells.Sparks of greens, blues, blacks, reds, yellows and oranges exploded everytime they blocked each other’s magic. Whooshes and crackles in the air could be heard as well, mixed with the clangs, groans, grunts and yells from the soldiers. The desert sand was now soaked with red liquid that the Egyptians shed.****Diana grinned at Priestess Nofretete as a sign of greeting. She blocked the priestess’ spells cast on her, and she summoned her cudgels again. The witch priestess’ eyes widened in agitation.“You must have some trauma with my cudgels, witch priestess,” Diana mocked amidst the noise of the battle that was going on.Priestess Nofretete scre
