In the conference room, Simon walked over to his designated seat, a scowl on his face.

"You look like someone just stoned you." William Blake, his personal assistant, said, noticing the awkward glances from those who walked in after Simon.

"How long is this supposed to take?" Simon grunted, picking up his phone.

"Uhm, about four hours. You already knew that. What’s wrong? Or rather, did something happen?" William asked.

"It's of no significance," Simon muttered.

"But it seems to bother you, so I wouldn’t call it significant," William stated.

"Drop it, okay?" Simon shot him a sharp look, which cut the conversation short.

The event host took to the stage, beaming with a smile as she said, "Good day, everyone. Thank you all for being here. It is such an honor to welcome such a distinguished guest."

After a brief recognition of key organizations and an introduction of the judges, the host’s tone shifted.

"And now, I have an exciting announcement. We have the honor of presenting a

The door to the conference room burst open as people filed out, signaling the end of the meeting. There was an amused look on the faces of some, while some of the attendants looked puzzled. "What just happened in there?" Someone in the crowd murmured. "I have no idea; it looked kind of heated to me," another person said. Nancy's brows were squeezed in confusion as her ear picked up the murmurs. "For a moment I thought those two were going to tear each other apart," another person murmured as they passed. "I'm sure she has lost the deal," Nancy muttered to herself, standing up from her seat in triumph. She remembered her words to Michael—'She 'will definitely lose this deal.' Nancy's lips spread in satisfaction as she remembered those words. Despite her earlier shock at seeing Anna, she knew there was no way Simon, being a member of the judge, was going to let her win. "Who knew that would eventually be the winner? That was the highlight for me tonight, especially with the way

"Hhngh!" Anna yelped as her back hit the door. The room was dark and small; a tall, looming figure stood before her, forcing her to lift her head to see who it was. For a moment, that night flashed before Anna's face as she felt the taste of the sea in her mouth. Instinctively, Anna closed her eyes, trying to block out the thought. "What the h*ll do you think you are doing?" Anna's eyes snapped open at the voice, all her fear turning into anger as she recognized it. She looked up, the sound of their heavy breathing echoing in the tense silence between them as she tried to see his face in the dimly lit room. "What the h*ll do you think you are doing?" She shouted at him. "You should answer me first," Simon replied, his voice ice cold, as he stood very close to her. "If you weren't trying to look so pissed, I'd say you know the answer to that," Anna responded. She pulled herself away from the door, but Simon refused to step back, and Anna refused to give him the satisfaction of

"For a minute there, I thought you were actually going to start a fight with the judge." Natasha muttered as they all got into the car. "Well, it's a good thing everything turned out nicely at the end," Clayton sighed in relief. Clayton glanced over at Anna through the rearview mirror; seeing her staring daggers at him made him cast his eyes back to the road. "You...you did good, Anna," Clayton stuttered, trying to keep his cool. "I had to be to save your a** right," Anna mumbled and flipped a hand through her hair as she glanced out the window of the car. The afternoon sky was clear as birds chirped in the distance, creating a peaceful atmosphere inside the car. The tension from earlier seemed to dissipate as they drove away from the event center. "Clayton, I think it's high time you spill," Anna muttered, turning her eyes back to him. "You're pretty much going to find out everything, but I think the most important one is the fact that I'm about to go bankrupt," Clayton mutter

Simon walked past him, his hands clenched in a fist, as he walked straight into his office. “Seems you haven’t found any solution; that’s interesting,” Gideon told Williams as they walked into the office behind Simon. “How do you preside over the competition and still announce her as the winner?” Gideon asked as he had his seat on one of the couches in the room. “Why did you approve such bullshit?” Simon shouted, turning to face Gideon suddenly. “Hey, it’s not b*llshit, it’s the truth, at least the way I know it,” Gideon responded with a shrug. Simon extended his hand towards Williams, who passed him the tab, knowing instinctively that was what he wanted. “The Parker Group acknowledges the presence of Vectra in the state and hopes to work with her despite the bad blood between her and our CEO. I hope today’s heated moments do not leave a dent in our future relationship,” Simon read out of the news publication. “Hey, I didn’t say it that way; it was probably taken out of context
