Chapter Three - Captive

~ARET~

Laying on the grass was my father in his wolf form, all bruised and battered, his hind limbs had been broken and most of his skin had been bitten off.

There was no way he could shift back, he was too injured. I placed my fingers on his furry chest.

No heartbeat.

I muffled a sob, burying my head on his wolf head crying as hands pulled me away from him.

“Aret! Let go of him, he's dead!” I turned to see Loraine and Laurel with teary eyes.

“No, No! Let me be! I want daddy back!” I cry out as Laurel pulls me into her arms, sobbing too.

After a while, we wipe our tears rising from the grass, “we can't stay here, the crescent hills tribe have already gotten to the Tribe squa-”

Loraine was cut short by a massive snarl, snapped our heads in the direction of the snarl to see a giant wolf with red eyes.

Only the Crescent Hills Tribe has red eyes.

“Run!” Laurel yelled as we ran into the forest, the wolf was hot on our trail as we ran further into the forest.

My sisters ran in the direction of the river while I kept running, my heart raced as I could hear the werewolf's snarl coming from a mile away.

I slowed down, only for the werewolf to catch up to me. I turned around, walking backward slowly as it took steps forward.

Likewise, I couldn't die like this, I haven't even found my mate.

Furthermore, I tripped, landing my butt on the cold grass. I felt a sharp pain from behind my head, it felt as if I was hit by something.

“Stop there, the Alpha said not to kill any female. They are of no threat, instead, we are to bring them to our tribe…” A voice which I assume belongs to the person who hit me on the head says to the wolf.

With blurred vision, I watch as the wolf shifts into a stark naked man, “Pick her up.”

I felt as if I was lifted off the ground and carried over someone's shoulder, my head upside down and my face inches away from the ground.

The grasses were the last thing I saw before I let the darkness envelop me.

“Load them into the trucks!”

My eyes fluttered open, closing shut immediately due to the brightness. I sat up, wincing in pain as my head still ached from the hit.

I stared at my surroundings, I was in a cage, a massive one with other she-wolves who I recognized as my fellow tribe members all whimpering as they cowered in fear, some crying.

“Move in, you mutt!” One of the werewolves yelled, pushing a she-wolf into the cage as she landed at my feet.

Her head was still on the floor and her blonde hair sprawled on the floor, mud sticking on the tips.

She groaned in pain raising her head as her gray eyes met mine, we both gasped, eyes brimming with tears.

“A-Aret,”

“Nova,”

She pulled me into her arms hugging me as tight as she could, After some minutes she let go harshly hitting my shoulder in anger.

“Where were you? I searched for you all over the tribe land, I thought you had-”

“My father is dead, Nova,” I said to her, sobbing into her chest while she drew small circles on my back.

“I didn't see my father nor brother nor any male, to be specific,” Nova muttered, staring at the bars that held the cage together.

“I only saw my sisters before we were pursued by a wolf, and we separated, I doubt they are in any of these trucks.”

“Yeah, the majority of the she-wolves ran deep into the forests, nowhere to be seen again. I heard the werewolf saying that the captured she-wolves are only thirty.” Nova explained as we both lay on the cold metal surface.

At least that's the best news I've heard in the past nine hours.

I close my eyes, imagining myself with my family again.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The truck screeched to a halt, as the cage tilted to the side, making our heads hit the cold metal bars.
I hiss in pain, my hand comes in contact with my forehead, and red liquid coats my finger, making me shudder.
Blood.
“Here,” Nova hands me a white cloth that I use to wipe the blood off my face.
“Move out!” A werewolf yelled as we scooted out of the cage, standing in a line while he chained our hands and legs together.
We were led through the Crescent hills tribe towards a dark, eerie forest. The huge bronze gates open wide, revealing a gray building, moss growing around it.
“Ahh!” I shook, startled by the screams that erupted from the building.
The chains rattled with every step we took, and so did the screams increase.
We walked deeper, passing every cell, some prisoners clung to the bar begging to be set free.
“Haha! They got you too!” A she-wolf who looked all battered and bruised yelled at us laughing maniacally.
“Move in!”
The chains were taken off our arms and feet, and we were pushed into the cell.
As the chains were taken off me, the guard pushed me in, making me hit my forehead on the rough wall.
Second time again.
“Watch it!” I yelled, hissing as blood rushed out of my forehead rolling onto my eyes and touching my lips.
The metallic taste made me cringe.
“Shut the fuck up, bitch!” He yelled back. Growling in anger, I charged toward him, elongating my fangs as I bit into his skin tearing it apart.
His fellow guards rushed towards us, kicking me to the ground and hitting my abdomen with their hard boots.
I manage to cover my face while they hit me, before they threw me back into the cell, Nova catching me swiftly.
I whimpered in pain as we watched them lock us in and walked away from the dungeon.
“I doubt your body will be able to heal fast enough,” Nova says while I scanned through the cell looking at the other females of my tribe, lying on the cold ground while some hid in the corners of the walls.
“You need energy, your wolf is weak, so you will have a slower and painful healing,” Nova says again, making me groan in anger.
“Captives of the Crescent hills pack.”
