"Oh, hey!" Beatriz greeted us with her very fake smile. "I didn't know you two were hanging out. I mean--- that would be ridiculous, right? Step-siblings hanging out together---"

"Hanging out isn't only for dating, Beatriz," Vance cut him off. "Don't put malicious meaning on everything you see."

"Uh... we're just--- I was just walking alone, cause I woke up really early and you know. Since I'm not really familiar with this place, I got lost, and I couldn't find my way back, so I called Vance to come to find me." I chuckled awkwardly. "Thank God he did."
