Chapter Sixty

The next morning, when Rose woke up, it was already 9 am. The space beside her was empty which means Christopher had woken up. She freshened up and went to check if Princess had woken up. When she opened the door, the bed was empty. She went downstairs and found Princess and Christopher playing with a puppy. "What are you guys doing?" She asked as she got to them.

"Mommy!!!" Princess shouted and ran to her mother.

"Hey baby, how are you?" Rose said and bent down to hug Princess.

"Good morning mom!! You woke up late. Come and see. daddy allowed me to bring sparkle in." Princess said and pulled Rose to where Christopher was playing with the puppy.

"Hey," Christopher greeted when she got to him.

"Morning!." Rose answered. "You should have woken me up a long time ago." She said and bent down to ruffle the dog's hair.

"I figured you were very tired and needed to rest. Hope you are fully rested." Christopher asked.

"Ooh, I feel refreshed and famished. What did you guys make for breakfast?" Rose asked.

"We ate Akara and pap. Mrs. Rita made it." Princess added.

"Hmm, that's great!! Where is she?" Rose asked looking around.

"She is around... You know she hates being idle. Why don't you go and eat something?" Christopher suggested.

"I am not hungry. I will wait till It's time for lunch." Rose said and went to take a seat on her favorite couch.

"Okay, I was waiting for you to wake up," Christopher said to Rose.

"Why?? Is there a problem?" She asked worriedly.

"No, it's just that I need to go out and sort out some things. I might be out for the whole day. Is that ok with you?" He asked her.

"Why shouldn't it be ok with me? If you have something to do then, go ahead. You should have dropped a message and then go." Rose said.

"I need to take permission from the two of you because weekends are for family and we should spend it together. It's just that what I am going out for is very important." Christopher explained.

"Okay, it's not a problem. Just go and don't stay too late." Rose said.

"Thank you. Bye baby!!" Christopher said and kissed Princess on her forehead. He walked to Rose and did the same thing before saying, "bye! I will get you something on my way back."

"Bye, daddy!!" Princess waved at Christopher who was walking out of the door.

The morning went by fast for Rose because she had nothing to do. She just told Mrs. Rita to call her when she is needed and went to the library for the whole morning. She was there till Princess and Mrs. Rita came to call her out for lunch. "It's time for lunch," Mrs. Rita said when they eventually found her sitting between the shelves.

"What time is it?" Rose asked dropping the book she was reading.

"What are you reading?" Princess asked.

"It's already 2 pm. How can you be so lost in a book? Don't you have your phone with you?" Mrs. Rita asked.

"It's a nice book and yes I don't have my phone with me. Let's go..." Rose said as she stood up.

"You didn't answer my question.!" Princess said as she tried to look at the title of the book. "I inquired of what you are reading and you didn't answer me." She said frowning.

"I am so sorry baby, I am reading a book by V.C. Andrews. It's called Dawn." Rose answered.

"Okay, can I read it?" Princess asked.

"Uhm... What did you guys make for lunch?" Rose asked in an attempt to change the topic.

"We cooked Fried rice and chicken with Moi Moi," Princess answered.

"Ok, let's go. I think I am hungry now," Rose said and they walked out together. She didn't forget to take her book along with her. She didn't want to tell Princess about the book she was reading because Princess would want to read it. The best solution was to make her forget about the book.

They got to the dining room and took their seats. They were about to start eating when they heard a commotion outside. "What's happening?" Princess asked looking at her mother.

"I don't know. Just continue with your food. They will handle it outside." Rose said.

"Let me check what is happening outside. You two should continue with your food." Mrs. Rita said and walked out of the dining room. She got outside and saw John blocking Cindy from getting to the front door and she was with her bag. "What's going on?" She asked as she stepped out.

"Will you tell this stinky thing to get out of my way?" Cindy shouted at Mrs. Rita who had just come out.

"Sorry, who are you?" Mrs. Rita acted ignorantly.

"Who are you asking such a stupid question? I just told you to tell this guy to get out of my way and you are asking who I am? You better get out of my way or else, you will regret it!!" Cindy threatened.

"Who are you to order anyone in this house!? You better turn back and rush to where you came from or else, I will have someone throw you out!!" Mrs. Rita said to Cindy who was doing everything possible to get John out of the way.

"Where is Christopher? Get him out here right now!! I will get into that house and I will make sure you all lose your jobs." Cindy said pointing her finger at Mrs. Rita and John who was just looking at her.

When Rose saw that Mrs. Rita had not come back after sine minutes abs the voices outside kept increasing, she decided to go out and check what was happening. When she got outside and saw Cindy, her mood turned sour immediately. She didn't say a thing she just crossed her arms over her chest and watched. It was Cindy who saw her when she came out of the house that reacted. "You bitch!... What are you still doing in my Fiancee's house!?" She shouted at Rose.

"What do you want?" Rose asked nonchalantly.

"I want you to get out of our lives.!! You just came out of nowhere and you are using your stupid juju to ruin my relationship..! I want you to just disappear the way you appeared. You are a homewrecker and prostitute!! Just wait till I meet you there and I will pull you out of this house with your stupid hair!!" Cindy cursed and shouted.

"Please, John. Let her come.". Rose said and John who had been blocking Cindy from moving immediately moved out the way for her to pass.

"Stupid house boy!! You dare to block me from entering this house right? Just wait and watch, I will soon get you out of this house." Cindy cursed. John just looked at her without any reaction and that got her angrier. She had come inside after fighting with the gateman for over 30 minutes.

"You are inviting trouble into your house Rose, why?" Mrs. Rita who had steeped aside when Rose came out couldn't help asking.

"Don't worry Mrs. Rita. I know what I am doing." Rose assured her with a smile and watch Cindy as she walked to them confidently.
