After Christopher left, Rose sat down and a smile unconsciously spread on her lips. She didn't know why but she felt happy. She felt at peace and her mind felt free. She hasn't felt so free in years and the feeling is great. She went into her room and picked up her phone then, went to meet him in the car. "Let's go." She said and they drove off.
They got to her office and she called in Ada. "Ada, please, meet me in my office." "Yes, ma," Ada answered but she was looking at the popular Christopher Allen who came in with her boss. Rose and Christopher walked into the office and Rise went to sit behind her table while Christopher stood behind her. They didn't have to wait for long before Ada knocked on the door. "Come in Ada!" Ada entered and Rose gestured her to sit. She sat down and was wondering what she has done wrong. "Have you gotten a house to live in?" Rose asked her. The truth is she found Ada when she was opening her supermarket and they have been working together since then. She employed Ada because she saw herself in Ada. Ada had no family and she was practically living on the streets. When Rose employed her, she allowed her to take the room at the supermarket. "No ma. I haven't gotten an apartment." Ada answered. "Good. I want to discuss something very important with you." She said and Ada nodded her head. "Good, there is a new development and I need to relocate to Lagos. I also want to promote you. You will become the general manager of all my supermarkets here in Benue state. Can you do it?" "Yes, ma. I will do my best." Ada answered. "Good!! Christopher wants to take me and my daughter with him and he suggested I put someone in charge while am gone so, I thought of you. You are the one I trust the most around here so you are fitting for the post. You'll have to take charge of everything around here and in the other stores. Do you understand?" Rose asked. "Yes, ma. Why the rush? You didn't even give us a heads up." Ada said. "She didn't plan to leave so soon" Christopher added "Yes, I didn't plan to leave so soon. Back to the reason why I asked you if you've gotten where to stay," Rose said. "I want you to move into my house. I don't want to keep it locked and I know you'll be the best person to stay there." Rose said. "But, I... Your house?" Ada managed to say. "Yes, my house," Rose said. "I don't want to leave it empty and you need a place to stay," Rose explained. "You are like the closest person to me and I trust that you will take care of my business like it's yours. You run this place in my absence and I believe you'll do a better job when am away." Rose said and smiled at her. "You'll get to run the business in her absence and you'll also stay at her place like it's yours." Christopher who has been quiet all along added. "I really appreciate the trust but, it's so sudden. If I may ask tho, why the rush?" Ada asked what has been on her mind since she got called into the office. "The thing is, Christopher is my husband and Princess's father. We haven't been on talking terms but we have resolved everything and he wants me to go back home with him," Rose said. Hearing her calling him her husband and his house their home, Christopher felt complete. He didn't even know he was smiling. "Ok. I'll do my best. Do I call a meeting with all the workers?" Ada asked. "Yes, call all the workers from the other branch as well. I'll like to finish everything today." Rose said. Ada left her office and went to do as she was told. "It's almost time to pick up my daughter from school," Christopher said and sat down. "Do you want us to go together or you'll handle everything while I go pick her up?" Christopher asked. "Hmmm, I'll wait for you guys here." Rise said and then looked at him then said, "you look happy. Are you that happy?" "Oh, is it that obvious?" Christopher asked. Rose nodded her head to confirm that it was very obvious and he just laughed and said, "since it's obvious, why do you still need to ask? I am happy and I can see you are very relaxed also." He said pointing at her. "Anyways, I need to go and pick up my angel. Well, be here before you know it. Take your time with your employees." He said and left. About thirty minutes later, all the employees had gathered and she explained to them the new development. She chose different people for different functions and dismissed them. She spent almost two hours with them and when she got back into her office, Christopher and Princess weren't there yet. She began to worry but then told herself that everything was ok. She set about doing what she needed to do. Christopher got to the school and met Princess happily waiting for him. He didn't even Park the car properly before she ran to him. "Daddy!!" She shouted and happily hugged him. "Where is mom?" She asked after pulling away and she didn't see her mother. "Your mother had to do something very important that's why she couldn't make it." He explained to her. "Let's go. We'll meet her in the office. She went to work to clear up some things." He said and they got into the car and drove off. "What did she need to clear up?" Princess asked. "Can I ask you a question?" He asked her and she nodded her head. "Would you like to go and live with daddy?" He asked. "I'll go if mom goes with us." She answered. "Good! Very good! Mommy is going that means, we'll get to live together as a family." He said and smiled at her. "Yey!!!! Let's celebrate, we'll buy some ice cream and take it to mommy's office. How about we buy pizza also?" She asked happily. "Sure, whatever my baby wants, daddy will buy." He agreed and they went to Dominos pizza to buy what they wanted. Father and daughter spent their precious time getting to know each other and having fun.Rose and Princess got to the side of the house and she was wowed. The whole area From the side she could see to the back was filled with trees of all kinds. Mango trees, oranges trees, pawpaw, avocado trees, and some she couldn't name. They walked further and, there was a wide swimming pool. The water looked so neat that one would have the urge to win in it. "Wow!" Rose breathed out."Let's go, mom. The house for the dogs is this way." Princess said and led Rose in another direction away from the pool. They walked among the trees and got to an open space where a small building was. They Met Audu at the house that was built for the dogs and he was feeding them. "What are you two doing here?" He asked them as they got closer."Princess wanted me to come and help her pick one among the puppies and that's why we are here," Rose explained."Oh," Audu said and chuckled at Princess's excitement. "Please, go ahead. Just pick the one you want amongst all of them.""What will happen to the oth
A few minutes later, Princess ran into the house ahead of Christopher and the others. "Mommy!!!" She shouted so loud that it could wake a dead person up. "Good morning mom!" She said as she ran straight into Rose's opened arms."Good morning my baby, how are you?" Rose asked."I am doing great mom. This house is so cool and guess what?" Princess said as she pulled out of the hug."What? Just tell me. You know I am not good at guessing!" Rose said with a smile playing on her lips."Well, daddy has dogs in this house and one of them is a female. She is so big! There is even a swimming pool at the back and, there is also a swing in the garden. The dog just gave birth to her children and daddy said I could take one and it'll be mine. Isn't that cool?" She said in one breath."Wow, you seem to have done your research around the house. That's great." Rose said. She noticed that Christopher and the others had gotten to them so, she said, "why don't you allow mommy to greet these people who c
Princess woke up very early the next day being a Thursday and immediately she opened her eyes, her surrounding was a little strange to her. She was about to panic when she heard a gentle voice. "Princess?" She looked at the person calling her and remembered where she was."Daddy?" She called. "Am I really in Lagos?" She asked and Christopher nodded. "Wow!! I can't believe this. I can't believe we'll get to stay with you in this big house." Princess said happily. She suddenly stopped talking and Christopher who came into her room as early as possible got scared. "What's wrong? Don't you like it here?" He asked her worriedly."Nothing is wrong dad. I just remembered that I will have to start a new school and make new friends. I am scared of that! What if they don't like me?" Princess asked and pouted her lips."Who would anyone want to hate someone as beautiful as you?" Christopher asked after realizing that she was just scared about making new friends."Do you think so? Do you think t
Rose walked into her room and slumped on the bed. She laid down and looked at the ceiling with different thoughts running through her mind. The thought of confronting the whole citizens of the media when their relationship gets out to the public was something she wasn't looking forward to. Yes, she can do whatever she wants to do as long as the determination is there but, most of these internet citizens just love to criticize. They would only see what they want to see and from the comments that have been made based on the announcement of Christopher's engagement to Cindy, she was going to have a hard time. The public thinks they are a perfect match and they look good together. She continued to think about this till an incoming call on her phone pulled her out of her thoughts."Hello?" She said immediately she picked up the call because she didn't check the caller ID."Good morning sis! Have you guys gotten to Lagos?" She heard. That was when she noticed that it was Ada on the other si
They got downstairs and Christopher took them to the dining room. Immediately they entered, Rose couldn't hold back her comment and said, "Is this really just a house? I feel like I have walked into another world. This is just a dining room for god's sake!! Why must it be so beautiful?" Rose asked and sat down on one of the chairs placed around the table. The chairs were made of wood but it also has leather seats and was made to look golden brown. The table was made of glass and it was decorated with fresh flowers in beautiful vases. There was also a bowl of fresh fruits placed at the center of the table with the edges painted gold."The truth is, I had this house remodeled. I almost tore down the whole house before it could turn to all what you are seeing now." Christopher explained while scratching the back of his neck.Rose and Princess sat down to wait for him while he went to prepare something for them to eat. He came back out after some minutes and placed plates of noodles and f
"Wake up, we are here!" Christopher said and shook Rose who had fallen asleep on the way."What time is it?" Rose asked as she woke up and looked at Christopher."It's 8 pm already. Let's go in. We have arrived." Christopher said and opened the door to get out.It was at that moment that Rose looked at her surroundings. She looked at the house in front of her and was wowed. The building was big. She knew how the house looked like but she didn't get to admire it then. They were a total of five cars parked at the garage and the middle of the compound was a water fountain with colorful lights around it. The lights gave it a kind of glow. She opened the back of the car and carried Princess who was sleeping. As she lifted her up, Princess woke up."Where are we?" She asked as she looked around with sleepy eyes.Christopher who was taking out their bags from the trunk chuckled and said, "this..." He gestured at the whole compound and continued. "Will be your new home. This is our house!""
