The golden light exploded beneath the chamber.

Lyra shielded her eyes.

The entire Heart Chamber trembled as ancient symbols appeared across the walls.

Karl fell to one knee.

The dark mark on his palm burned brighter.

“Lyra…”

She rushed toward him.

“I’m here.”

Karl looked at his hand.

“I don’t know what this is.”

The mysterious guardian smiled.

“You will.”

Lyra turned sharply.

“Who are you?”

The man lowered his hood completely.

“My name is Aren.”

Master Thorne stared at him.

“Aren… the First Keeper.”

Aren nodded.

“I guarded the Moon Throne before your ancestors were even crowned.”

Lucien tightened his grip on his weapon.

“Then why have you been hiding?”

“Because the Moon Throne was never meant to awaken.”

Lyra looked toward the golden light.

“Then why is it awakening now?”

Aren looked at Karl.

“Because the key has finally returned.”

Karl stood slowly.

“I’m not your key.”

Aren smiled.

“You don’t have a choice.”

Karl’s eyes hardened.

“Everyone has a choice.”

Aren’s expression changed.

For the first time, he looked uncertain.

Lyra stepped beside Karl.

“He’s right.”

Aren looked at her.

“You would stand against the prophecy?”

“I would stand against anyone who tries to control another person’s life.”

Evelina smiled faintly.

“That is exactly what I hoped you would say.”

A sudden sound came from beneath the chamber.

BOOM.

The golden light grew stronger.

Elias grabbed his chest.

“The Blood Crown is reacting.”

Alaric looked at him.

“What do you feel?”

Elias shook his head.

“Something is waking up.”

Caelan moved toward the staircase.

“We need to leave.”

Aren shook his head.

“It’s already too late.”

The floor opened.

A massive staircase appeared beneath them.

At the bottom stood an enormous golden door.

A symbol was carved into it.

A crescent moon surrounded by two crowns.

Lyra stared.

“The Moon Throne.”

Aren nodded.

“The original throne.”

Master Thorne looked horrified.

“The throne beneath the throne…”

Lyra looked at him.

“You knew about this?”

“Only from fragments of the Moon Archives.”

“What does it do?”

Master Thorne swallowed.

“It chooses the ruler who will determine the fate of the ancient kingdoms.”

Karl looked at Lyra.

“And the key opens it.”

Aren nodded.

“But there’s something you don’t know.”

Lyra turned toward him.

“What?”

Aren looked at Karl.

“The key doesn’t simply open the throne.”

He paused.

“It can also destroy it.”

Karl stared at him.

“How?”

“By choosing the wrong person.”

Lyra frowned.

“And who is the wrong person?”

Aren’s eyes shifted toward her.

“The person who loves the Moon Queen more than they love the kingdom.”

Karl immediately understood.

“That’s why you marked me.”

“Yes.”

Lyra stepped between them.

“You’re testing him.”

“No.”

Aren’s voice became cold.

“I am testing you.”

The chamber went silent.

Lyra stared at him.

“Me?”

Aren nodded.

“The Moon Throne has one final rule.”

“What rule?”

Aren pointed toward the golden staircase.

“The rightful queen must choose between the person she loves…”

His gaze moved to Karl.

“…and the kingdom she was born to protect.”

Lyra’s expression hardened.

“No.”

Aren smiled.

“Every Moon Queen before you faced the same choice.”

Lyra looked at Karl.

Karl shook his head.

“Don’t let them make this decision for you.”

The Heart inside Lyra’s chest began glowing.

Suddenly, a vision flashed before her.

Karl standing beneath the Moon Throne.

A black crown on his head.

The kingdom burning around him.

Lyra reached for him.

“Karl!”

The vision vanished.

Karl caught her before she fell.

“What did you see?”

Lyra couldn’t answer.

Because deep inside her mind, another voice whispered:

You will be the one who destroys him.

Lyra looked at Karl.

And for the first time—

she was afraid of what the future might demand from them.

Then the golden doors began to open.

A voice echoed from beyond them.

“MOON QUEEN.”

Everyone turned.

“ENTER.”

The Heart pulsed.

The Ring of Unity glowed.

Elias’s Blood Crown awakened.

And Karl’s mysterious mark began shining like fire.

Lyra took one step toward the door.

Then another.

Whatever waited beyond the throne would change everything.

And she knew there was no turning back.
