Four

She sighed as Susan's screamed, making her shock.

'Bachelorette parties are awesome!' Cassie shouted behind her. She knew that because she experienced one herself.

They sat down in front of the stage, Susan sitting with a crown on her head and a swarl round her shoulders. On it was written; Bride to be.

She didn't think she could have fun. Cassie had actually hired those male stripers, she was completely sure it was Susan's idea; after a few rounds of dancing and more than a few drinks, she began to feel lightheaded. She moved close to the bride, away from the two men who were trying to hold her back to dance with them.

'I need to use the bathroom.'

Her friend just nod and she went away from the sea of people.

She was smiling freely until her feet stopped by the ladies' door. She turned to look at the person standing at end of the bar, standing with his hand in the pocket and drink in one hand.

What was Nicholas doing here? When did he get back?

Her feet didn't move nor did she look away; he looked so handsome and perfect just standing there waiting.

She shook her head. Completely sure it was the alcohol talking; she wasn't even drunk. If he saw her now, she was sure she would just passed out, the next thing, she saw shocked her.

Someone moved close to him and held him by his neck and she watched as their lips meet, she watch him move away from her and shake his head before he turned and dropped the glass to prevent it from slipping from his fingers to the ground and he hold the lady by her shoulders and shook her but she shake her head, pulled him closer and kissed him.

Amber felt bile on her tongue. She looked again, she knew that person; it was her......no it was just her seeing things she looked again and blinked twice; she let out a silent gasp.

Short chocolate hair.

It was her sister; Jessie said she was not coming that she had an appointment.....was Nicholas her appointment, were they seeing each other now? They weren't even divorced and he was kissing her sister?

Her legs didn't move; how long had Jessie known he was back and hid it from her, how long have that been going on.....behind her back? She knew Jessie liked Nicholas but not to the extent of kissing him, when it wasn't even official yet.

She felt a tear on her face and she angrily wiped it away. He didn't even push her away from him, he was enjoying kissing her sister. God!

Wait....Wasn't she getting a divorce? She shouldn't care about what he did with his life or who he did it with, she moved on.

She sighed and walked into the bathroom.

She spent even longer than she thought....at the end, her stupid heart didn't listen, instead it cried for the betray of her own twin sister and of the love she had lost.

'So what happened?' Lucky asked him as he put on his trousers.

Nicholas shook his head. 'I'm not in the mood.'

'Did you even talk to her?' Maxwell asked him, putting on his shirt.

'She left before I got the chance to even see her.'

Maxwell touched his shoulder in comfort. 'Be patient, Nick.'

Patience what was he has been practicing so far.

'Did you even do what we told you?' Lucky asked him.

He shook his head and looked at them. 'I realized; Amber isn't the kind of person to win over like that.'

'And?' Max asked even he paused, he hasn't even answered Lucky's question.

'I'm not interested, guys. I hope you never reach like this with the ladies.' He said putting on his shirt.

Lucky went to the mirror and began knotting his tie. 'We didn't help, what will you do now?'

He sighed. 'Win her back.'

'We know that. How?' Max probbed.

He stood up and looked at the two men; 'it will be like the first time, we met. Courting, apologies and dinner.'

Lucky turned to him and scoffed. 'I think I prefer the latter; Jealousy, kiss and flowers.'

Nicholas shook his head; he was ready to risk his chances with Amber by making her jealous and the kiss will never come because she will never forgive him and where would the flowers come from, he couldn't go into his own garden and steal them to give her and besides, they are not divorced...yet.

He just have to show her that he was different now and that no matter how she was, he wanted her.

'This is your wedding, Lucky. Feel like the luckiest man alive.' He said instead.

Lucky smiled boldly. 'I am.'

'Are you ready?' Maxwell asked him.

'Yes, I am.'

She had smiled when she walked slowly in rhythm with the "Here comes the Bride" song to the altar where Cassie was already standing; her smile disappeared when she saw him standing watching her; she frowned and looked away and smiled at the audience before reaching her position.

Susan came in, beautifully and looking dazzling and she knew Nicholas didn't see any of that nor heard Lucky whispered to him that his bride is so beautiful, because his eyes was on her.

She reached out for Susan's bouquet while she climbed the altar to where her father had placed her hand in Lucky's own.

She remembered her wedding;

Her mother had personally supervised everything and Amber had panicked when she heard her veil was missing. Susan had dropped it somewhere but she didn't remember where. She was too upset to mess up her make up and her hair. So she sat down, kept looking at the mirror tapping her feet on the ground, Impatiently..... reminding herself she was getting married today that she should be calm and happy.

By the time, she was about to tell the girls and her mom not to bother, they saw the veil. Nicholas had been calling her, Max had been calling Cassie but none of them answered; she knew they were wondering if she changed her mind and Nicholas would be wondering why she would have to leave him at the altar like that.

When they walked out of the room, they made straight for the church. By the time she stood at the door in her father's hand, the song begun to play and as she entered, everyone stood up; the hall was full; it was as if this was the wedding of a princess with the whole kingdom at the church. Her mother has a lot of friends and her father had even more people.....who were his partners than his friend. Her friends were a few; Susan's entire family attended the wedding, Cassie's family was there with her nieces and nephews, and she smiled walking down the aisle, Nicholas' eyes were only for her; they were bright, making him look younger, she saw Maxwell tugged his shoulders that the priest was talking to him but he wasn't even paying attention, his eyes were only for his bride.

Her father smiled when he put her hand into Nicholas and walked to his seat.

She smiled at him; his suit was neat and he looked incredible sexy... maybe the girls were right, when they described him as hunk.

The funny thing is......she heard half of what the priest was saying; from the importance of marriage, something about God, something about vows, something about rings but she knew that Nicholas heard nothing because he was grinning from left to right....he couldn't take his eyes off her. He was telling her how beautiful she looked, making complement that made her smile, telling her his vows while holding her hands and his lips not moving.

It felt overwhelming and wonderful to listen to his thoughts on her but she liked audible conversation better, Max hit his hand and with a smile, he looked at his friend.

'The priest is talking to you.'

He nodded and looked at the priest for the first time, since the wedding started.

Then he heard everyone laughing and turned to her, she smiled then turned to the priest.

'The wedding isn't over yet. We are all still here.'

She watched as her confused groom turned to his friend to explain.

'The priest have been asking you to repeat after him.....but your mind was not even here.'

Nicholas smiled at his friend and then give the audience an apologetical look before turning to the priest.

'I'm sorry, I......' He looked at Amber.

She nod.

'Just one more time, I'll reply this time.' She heard him.

Everyone laughed in the church, even the priest before he went straight to the vows.

She looked away; now it was more than weird; Lucky was asking him for the rings and he kept looking at her; giving it was Susan's wedding, the eyes should be on her not Amber and Nicholas stealing her day.

If she had this much effect as he did on her, why did he have to kiss Jessie; to forget her?

'I now pronounce you man and wife; you may kiss your bride.' She heard the priest and she saw Lucky held Susan's hand and pulled her in for a kiss.

'You are now Mr and Mrs Lucky Cornell.'

She smiled and turned to Cassie, she hugged her friend before turning to hug the bride, while she did, she caught Nicholas'eyes again and he was smiling; what was he grinning at? She straightened her face and he stopped.

She was angry at the sudden development she had witnessed and he was smiling at her?

She scoffed and moved to Lucky, she hugged him muttering; 'Welcome to the family.'

She moved past Nicholas and hugged Maxwell, before going back to her place by Cassie the couple began walking down the aisle.

After Susan and Lucky walked hand in hand; she went ahead him and he walked behind her and then she wished he didn't.

****

'Guy, she totally ignored you.' Maxwell told him as they walked together into the reception hall.

'I don't know, what is even more shocking...is like she wasn't least happy to see me, like she doesn't care that I am back.'

'Or she knew you were back and didn't care.' Maxwell said as they walked to meet the couple.

Nicholas didn't know what she was doing, if she knew he was back and he was coming to the wedding.... definitely she should have sent him the divorce papers.

He sighed and sat down.

'Smile, it's my wedding.' He heard Lucky.

'He is just acting grumpy.' Susan added.

He smiled at them and then looked at Cassie questionally; Amber wasn't on her seat. Cassie just shrugged.

He search the big room for her; before the place get extra busy.

She was angry with him; he didn't even know what he did to warrant such but he needed to find her to know where he is at. She didn't hug him at the church ignored him like a plague, even when he looked in her direction, she avoided him; when she walked in front of him; he admitted her backside; was as he remembered it.

But he needed to be at her good side.
