“Please unchain him” “your majesty are you sure?” “yes, I want him to live and he wants to live too, if not for himself, for his unborn pup” the guard releases his chains and he looks around “hey, hey, focus on me, I will send you to her, you have a short amount of time together okay?” he nodded once again.

I opened my mind link to my guards and quickly explain the situation to them and told them to give them some privacy and to surround the holding cell she’s in with a protective barrier so neither of them could escape until I let him out, once they’ve assured me it was done I opened a portal for him and smile sadly at him “go ahead” he watches me then runs through the portal, I close it with a sigh “ I’m much to old for all this nonsense” “well if you are old I suppose we’ve well past the fossilized stages in life then hmm?” I laugh “quite witty aren’t you?” “what can I say, I’ve had years of practice” I laugh even harder “oh my I really did need that laugh, thank you, I suppose as I’m here I may as well jump the other hurdle in one go then huh”

“Mmm I suppose so I mean after all there is no point in running the same race twice is there?” I chuckle “lead the way then please”

The Winter Wards lead me through their castle, it is quite exquisite, seemingly made of ice and snow, all the attendants are Snow Folk, they are not able to exist outside of this place unless the Wards give them the Frost Blessing to preserve them.

We get to a room and they stop just outside the door and make way for me, I walk past them and give a quick knock on the door, “come in” I hear my mothers’ voice call from in the room, “go on in your majesty, we shall wait here and give you your privacy with your parents, I am sure there is much to discuss” “thank you”

I push the door open and enter, closing it softly, I entered the room with my back turned and leaned my forehead against the cold door before releasing a deep breath, now or never Rozaria, I turn and my parents are standing right behind me.

“Rozie!” my mom exclaims and was about to hug me and stopped, her hands froze mid air then returned to her side, “Rozaria?” they both take in my much older appearance, observing me from head to feet then step back “I I I don’t understand, what has happened? You look so much more mature than when we last saw you, were you poisoned?”

I chuckle “no mother, I was not poisoned” she gently touches my face “then what happened to you?” “please sit down” I gesture with my hands for them to sit, I note that the Winter Wards were kind enough to provide them with regular beds and accommodations, they sit on a love seat sofa and I sit on a bench “well I suppose the best place to begin would be the beginning, but I will summarize it for you as I have other duties to attend to”

“What could possibly be so important, that you have to rush with us?” “uhm, running the Kingdom?” “running the Kingdom, my dear that is our job” I sigh “father and mother, you have long since retired and relinquished the crown to me, I have been ruling the Elemental Kingdom for the past Twenty Three years”

My father shoots to his feet astonished “Twenty Three years?!” he begins to pace “are you trying to tell me that we have lost Twenty Three years of memories Rozaria Milva?!” he’s understandably angry and confused.

“That is correct”

“B-But how is that possible”

“It was Mali”

“Mali? What did Mali do?”

“She made contact with a Dark Witch and essentially took over your minds, she wished to be Empress and went seeking darkness and found it, she went as far as to create and false bond with me and her own mate so I would think he was my mate and he also thought I was his for all these years”

I smile sadly “she did so much damage papa, under her influence she made you both lie to me and tell me that my pup died out in the world and I remained here all this time leaving my pup to suffer out in the world, each thinking the other is dead, even my mate thought I was dead because you told him so, and he unable to bare it and not knowing where to look for me accepted it but did not love our pup because he felt like she killed me” I choke out trying not to cry.

My parents look at each other in blatant disbelief with wide eyes and mouths wide open “w-we have a grand pup?” “yes, yes you do, you should see her she’s so beautiful” I smile remembering my beautiful pup, my mom has tears streaming down her face and drops to her knees before me.

“I am so sorry Rozaria, even though I have no memory of doing that but it must have been so dreadful for you, to feel as though you lost your pup, did I at least comfort you?”

I sniffle “no mother, you did not, you simply said to cheer up, there are many more pups to be made with my mate Adriel” she sobs and covers her mouth, my father helps her up and she leans into him and pats her back gently trying to soothe her but I can tell that his thoughts are going a million miles her minute as he tries to process things.

“What’s her name?”

“Azealia Milva” there really isn’t a need to mention about her previous name right now, they have enough to think about and catch up on as it is “where is she? We'd certainly love to meet her, is she at the palace?”
