Chapter Twelve

The next night the girls and I went to a club called Vault. It's a nice place to dance and smoke hookah, but it is too damn small. From outside of the club it looks dark with flashing lights; the only way you'll know it's a club is by the music blasting through the walls. They play all the latest hits, some reggaeton but mostly hip-hop.

There's a bar on the opposite side of where the entrance is to the club. Then there are stools in front of the bar that goes all the way around because the bar is long. Then there are a few places to sit that are across from where the bar is. The rest is the dance floor packed with lots of people. Cece needed a night out away from her crazy boyfriend.

It turns out he hits her from time to time. I and Lexa tried to tell her to leave him, but she ignores us and says she was happy with him. I and Lexa both looked at each other and rolled our eyes. Because we both don't understand how anyone would be Happy in an abusive relationship.
