Ezra's secret

I knew Ezra loved me. That was an undeniable fact, but the only reason I felt comfortable around him was because I trusted him.

However, I knew deep down that we both knew that I wasn't his whole world. We both knew that we weren't meant for each other. I sighed deeply as I climbed up the steps of our apartment building.

I pushed open the apartment door with no hesitation. Dan and I were still engaged in the past week. Our conversation had been brief and awkward, but neither of us seemed to be able to break away from the other.

I could tell that he was hurting, but I didn't know how to make the pain go away. Ezra's father was a man that didn't deserve to be hurt. Yet, I knew that Dan would never choose his dad over me. I sighed.
