The ancestral goddess

"How about we stay calm, father?" I asked while fidgeting, there was a belief that whatever the ancestral goddess said was real and I didn't want her to find out what I have done to Aurora.

"Son, what did you say?" My mother asked me, her eyes glinting with tears, and my eyes broke at the sight of it.

Different thoughts ran through my mind as I thought of what she was going to do to me if she found out what I had done to Aurora, her Aurora.

I shook my head, dissuading the thought from my head, I had to do whatever I had in mind and I had to act fast. 

" Aurora was everything to me and I cannot stop thinking of how life would have been with her by my side" I placed a hand on my chest, caressing it gently as though I was in great pain. 

"She deserves justice, and that is what I am going to get for her" I glanced at the faces surrounding me, and my heart hitched when I saw those faces.

Those faces that had heard me talking harshly to Aurora, glanced at me with stunned expressions on their faces and I could tell what they were thinking. 

Those same faces that had laughed along with me now stared at me looking stunned. 

"Your mate will get the justice that she deserves, son" my father placed a hand on my shoulder, consoling me but I wasn't having it not when I knew that he had plans of calling the ancestral goddess here, not when I knew that I would be caught if she came here but still, I knew that it had to be done. 

"And that is why the ancestral goddess is needed here, she will need to fish out the person who had done this thing, she is going to tell us where Aurora is and what action we should take next" my father had a stern look on his face as he said those words, a look that haunted me.  

"What if Aurora wanted this?" I blurted out the word which I shouldn't have because I could see the stunned look on people's faces when they heard what I had just said. 

"You didn't just say that" Laden grunted angrily at me, pushing me on the chest. "How dare you? How dare you think that my sister would want to kill herself? She had everything she ever wanted, happy life and she was looking forward to being your Luna" Laden bit into his lips, before letting out a peal of throaty laughter, showing how much pain he was in. 

"Yes, Aurora was looking forward to being called yours, she kept chanting about it in my ears, telling me every night that I wanted the same thing as she did" I threw my gaze at my mother who had a disappointed look on her face . 

"I was also" I pointed a finger at myself, poking my chest repeatedly while glancing at everyone.

"I was looking forward to spending the rest of my life with her, I was looking forward to having her by my side as my Luna, we talked about the names of our kids, Aurora and I did all of that" my voice broke at intervals and I could see the look on the faces on the people around. 

Most of them had sympathetic looks on their faces and I smiled inwardly when I saw the reaction that I was getting, this was what I wanted. I needed to be seen as a victim, I needed to maintain the image that I had already and I wasn't going to let someone who isn't up to my standard affect my mood. 

"I want her with me" I bit hard into my lips until I could taste blood on them until the metallic taste hit my tongue. 

" She was supposed to be made my Luna, how exactly did this happen? Can someone, anyone please give me an explanation because I am lost?"

" It is okay son, it is okay" I heard Mr. Alexis console behind me, gripping my shoulder tightly. I turned around, before staring at him. "Did you search your house? Did you search all of her favorite places?'' I asked frantically, blinking my eyes at those around me. 

"I know all of her favorite places, we can go there together and search together for her" I suggested to laden who was holding his mother tightly. 

"You were her favorite place," Laden answered in pain. I could feel it in the way he had uttered it and it got me wondering how much Aurora must have told him about me. 

What he had just said made my heart skip a bit. I had been good to Aurora until this evening when I was forced to tell her what I felt when I had pointed out how unwanted she was and how I wasn't going to have her in my life. 

"She was mine too but I guess she left me, did she detest me so much that she had to leave me when she knows how hopeless I am going to be without her in my life?" 

" All I want is Aurora, I want her back in my life, in my arms, I want her to come back and do all that she promised to do with me, we had made a lot of plans together, plans that were made known to just us, how could she break me so?" I screamed out loud at the top of my voice until I could feel my heart aching and until I couldn't get rid of the pain anymore. 

"Hahaha, Aurora why? Why did you have to do this to me? How could you break me in such a way?" I screamed out loud into the air, my voice echoed in the still air.

"Weep for the poor innocent me who Selina had taken his mate away, because I have been thrown into a dark abyss of which I do not know its end" my voice was devoid of emotions and I knew it pierced through people's heart.

I turned around swiftly while holding Aurora's jacket tightly. " Call for the ancestral goddess, father, because my mate must get her justice," I said with a determined look on my face while mapping out a devious plan in mind.
