Mag-log in“You think I'd stoop so low to fuck servants like you do?" He yelled— Oh, but he did! Hear me out, Thane Moneau, an enigmatic billionaire, gets tangled up with Lena Hayes, a charming, love-hungry young lady who asks for nothing but to be loved. She's sent to prison for a crime she knew nothing about by her husband, and that was where she'd met Thane; her prison bully. She was released ten months after to find her step sister, Mira, had taken over her marriage. With nowhere else to go after signing the divorce papers, she returned to her father's house only for the heartless man to sell her off as a maid. There again, her world and Thane's collided as her boss was Thane's irresponsible father. Not long after, Mr Moneau senior was killed and Thane was nowhere to be found. Soon, she discovered Thane is actually a ruthless billionaire, and numerous questions filled her mind. How had such a rich man ended up in the kind of dirty prison where she was? Why did he go undercover? And how on earth was he so rich but his father lived in an average house and fucked whores for a living? Also, what happens when Lena goes from being a wife to Adrian Devonshire, to a maid for an old man, then the personal maid to Thane who hates her guts? Will things get worse or will she thrive when unforeseen circumstances force her to get married to the ruthless, arrogant billionaire, Thane Moneau?
view morePart of me wanted to scream, to see how far I could reach before the sun rises again. Gazing out the bedroom window, I wondered whether she was asleep or not. Obviously, I am talking about that minuscule square apartment, second floor. Was I innocent? "yes?", if I said this I would be lying to myself. I wasn't innocent entirely, but let's not judge me by the post-haste actions, for neglecting the journey.
I still pass by the streets, apartments, restaurants, and parks, all a part of this story. Somehow, my story is their story too, 'cause it was something that all the people around me knew. And, while these spots are no longer same, can still stop me dead in my tracks. I think to myself, "what happened here?" totally not practical, somewhat self-centered. I can't acknowledge that place, it moved on.Without me.
When I was 17, my life changed forever.
I know there are people who wonder about me when I say this. They look at me strangely trying to fathom what could have happened back then, though I seldom bother to explain. Because I have lived here most of my life, I don't feel that I have to unless it's on my terms, that would take more time than most people are willing to give me. When I say this it feels kind of weird, but some part of me knew that there's always been a space for her in my heart. My story, yes the story which I can't summon up in two or three sentences, it can't be packaged into something shiny or neat and simple that people would immediately understand. Indeed in the road of years, the people living here knew us from the very beginning.I am 47 years old, but this story will always remain in those places, as if it's stuck in that time. It feels quite strange when I remember them 'cause they come with sadness and joy. Sometimes, I chuckle about the things we used to do, and wish I could go back, but that isn't possible!! is it? Bringing them back to life feels good, but then the saddest part comes and all I could think is "can I turn back time and make it alright?" but then I get this feeling, if I did, what if, it took the joy too. So, all I do is accept, when they come. The memories are still vivid. Others are best left alone, fade over time. It is march 27, yes the day it all happened!! I came to this town again and again on this day every year just to take a glance.
"what about her? do she still remember? or it is just me waiting or wanting to see her...atleast as a 'friend!' "
As I continue to stare that minuscule square apartment, I can see myself getting younger and younger, the plants, trees, building everything started to change, this small town changed too.
I started walking down that street, with hands in my pocket, perfectly combed slightly brownish hair with my black eyes.
I am Landon. Landon Miller, 15 years old. This is my story, I promise not to leave anything out.
Lena picked at her food, her eyes glued to the plate to make sure she avoided looking up. There was an invisible frown on her face-subtle, but you could tell she wasn't happy. I mean, how would you feel if you found out you had a half-sister you basically worked with as a maid in the house of a man you both loved? And then you found out she was just undercover searching for something you've been with all your life.Lena was troubled-just like she should. And that was all she could think of. She was stripped of the position, and Bridget had given her a kiss on the forehead as she happily took up all the responsibilities that came with it.Though she'd let Lena keep her house. It was only a sigh of relief for Lena-even though she really didn't like how everything played out.'Bitch, you're free.' her mind whispered.'Not completely.'Her eyes finally snapped up. "Are you seriously going to keep watching me eat?" Thane tapped lazily on the table, his gaze never leaving her face. "You
Lena wrapped her arms around herself and tapped her foot as she sat, trying to block out the voices in her head.This...this mess was exactly what she'd been avoiding. And now it was staring straight at her face. But first of all, she'd refused to leave the hall if Thane didn't explain what the hell Bridget was talking about. "Lena-" "Don't touch me, Thane." She snapped, moving away so his hand didn't touch her. They were backstage, and the ceremony had to be ended abruptly so that they could get to understand what was going on.Goosebumps traced their way to Lena's brain, and she couldn't help the sick feeling in her stomach. Darius finally walked in, his steps slow and calculated. "So what's the..." he paused and tilted his head, a frown on his face and his eyes caught Bridget. He turned to Thane. "Isn't this that maid you used to fool around with?" he asked Thane, his tone flat.Bridget rolled her eyes, her legs crossed on the chair she sat.Thane gritted his teeth and just rem
For a moment, Lena had forgotten her anxiety as she spoke with Alex. But now hearing the announcer's voice echo from the speakers, a shiver ran down her spine, robbing her face of her smile."Are you okay?" Alex asked, concern laced in her voice.Lena took a breath, trying to steady herself. Then she forced a smile. "I'm fine. I'm just..." she swallowed. "Just a little freaked out, that's all."Renee stepped forward almost immediately. "Ma'am, we have to go." There was a frown on Alex's face as she cupped Lena's shoulders. "You'll do great, okay?" She pulled her into a hug, and Lena returned it, blowing off a bit of the pressure. They broke the hug, and Lena waved before following Renee towards the backstage door.As soon as she walked in, Darius walked out onto the stage. "Already?" Lena said with a frown, her palms becoming clammy. "Easy there, Lena."Lena turned just in time to see Marie walk in through the door. Lena's cheeks warmed instantly, and she took a step toward Marie.
Lena stared at her reflection in the full-length mirror and took a deep breath for the umpteenth time, trying to blow away the anxiety fluttering in her chest. It wasn't working."Tonight's the night, Lena. You can do this," she encouraged herself, her eyes making an outline of her body wrapped in a black, sleek gown paired with silver heels.Simple, but striking. At least, that was what the stylist had said. And she was beginning to see it the more she repeated it in her head. She picked up her phone, which was lying on the bed.A message from Renee had popped up. "The guests are arriving." The message read. Lena turned off the phone and exhaled, like she'd been holding her breath. Then finally she took up her bag and walked out the door."Sandy, you sure you don't want to come with-" Lena paused in her tracks for a moment. But then she just rolled her eyes and continued to the front door."Oh, come on." Thane said, following her behind. "I was just persuading Sandy to tag along,
"Would it please you if I went to jail?"Lena exhaled shakily, blinking multiple times where she stood. Then she turned around to face him, her face a mask of seriousness. "What are you saying?"Thane held his hands behind himself. "If I go to jail...will you forgive me?" Lena's heart jammed in he
Thane swallowed and took a step further into the room.Lena didn't move-she couldn't.The trill on Sandy's face suddenly wiped away as the tension in the room dawned on her. She looked from Lena to Thane, then back to Lena, then back to Thane. This was not her scene, and she didn't plan to remain i
Cecil's eyes were cold and sharp, just like Lena remembered. But this time, Lena didn't flinch. She'd come prepared for this right when she paid a guy on the dark web to send that fake message to get everyone here. For a second, they both engaged in a cold staring competition. The type that even an
Lena sat with her arms wrapped around herself, staring down at the table and avoiding everyone's eyes.Everyone was now seated around the table with the only person standing Tessa who seemed to have made Helena call Adrian and was now waiting for him to arrive. They'd just witnessed Cecil bundled i
