“You think I'd stoop so low to fuck servants like you do?" He yelled— Oh, but he did! Hear me out, Thane Moneau, an enigmatic billionaire, gets tangled up with Lena Hayes, a charming, love-hungry young lady who asks for nothing but to be loved. She's sent to prison for a crime she knew nothing about by her husband, and that was where she'd met Thane; her prison bully. She was released ten months after to find her step sister, Mira, had taken over her marriage. With nowhere else to go after signing the divorce papers, she returned to her father's house only for the heartless man to sell her off as a maid. There again, her world and Thane's collided as her boss was Thane's irresponsible father. Not long after, Mr Moneau senior was killed and Thane was nowhere to be found. Soon, she discovered Thane is actually a ruthless billionaire, and numerous questions filled her mind. How had such a rich man ended up in the kind of dirty prison where she was? Why did he go undercover? And how on earth was he so rich but his father lived in an average house and fucked whores for a living? Also, what happens when Lena goes from being a wife to Adrian Devonshire, to a maid for an old man, then the personal maid to Thane who hates her guts? Will things get worse or will she thrive when unforeseen circumstances force her to get married to the ruthless, arrogant billionaire, Thane Moneau?

With shaky hands and a smile of excitement plastered on her lips, Lena rang the doorbell of the large, elegantly structured house. Adrenaline rushed up to her brain, and she felt jittery with happiness as her dirt-stained fingers made their way to caress the flat circular pendant of her golden necklace. She walked over to the window beside the door and peered through. The classy golden brown interior was just as she remembered, but a bit shinier. "Looks like Adrian had the maids prepare for my return," she thought, her stomach fluttering with butterflies. "I miss him so much!" She beamed and bounced back to the front door, ringing the bell again with more excitement. "Coming!" A female voice sang from within. Lena paused, frowning for a nanosecond. She knew that voice. "How thoughtful of Mira to come help Adrian set up the house," she thought, her heart ringing with more joy. The door opened with a swift movement, and Lena's wide smile plastered back on her face. "Mira!!" she exclaimed, pulling her in for a hug, which Mira didn't return. Instead, Mira stood there with her eyes widened in shock. "I'm so glad to see you, Mira," Lena said, but Mira pushed her away, looking her over with disgust. Lena didn't mind. "You look so good, you know." She chuckled and continued, "Unlike me, though. The cells definitely didn't have disinfectant nor—" "Baby, who's that?" A male voice interrupted, and Lena's soul brightened up more than it already was. "Adrian!" She screamed, running towards him with her arms wide open, but in the blink of an eye, she felt a sharp pain in her neck, and she was on the ground. Before she could realise what had just happened, Adrian and Mira towered over her. There was a look of satisfaction and spite on Mira's face and one of anger on Adrian's as she let out a slight cough. "W—what's wrong?" Lena asked softly, looking from one person to the other as her hand made its way to her neck, which was starting to burn. "Holy shit, Adrian, I still can't believe you got married to such a stupid human being!" Mira snared, with a fraustrated hand on her forehead. "I know, right? What was I thinking?" Adrian growled, crouching to Lena's level. "What's going on? Is everything alright?" Lena asked again, staring into her husband's eyes. But it didn't seem like the same man who stared back. Her brows creased. "Adrian," she muttered softly. "What the hell are you doing here?" Adrian asked. Lena's voice quivered. "I—I don't understand. I just got released from prison. You were so busy at work. I didn't bother calling you, so I—" "Shhh," he shushed. Lena could feel hot liquid settle beneath her eyeballs. She didn't like his demeanour at all. "I mean, what are you doing in my house, Lena?" Adrian asked, his tone cold. Lena's face contorted in confusion. "I returned from prison to my husband's house." Mira rolled her eyeballs. "She gets dumber by the second." "Does this place look anything like where you were married into?" Lena turned to look around the house, though she could swear she walked into the right house. She turned back to him. "You don't remember? We're married, Adrian. Two years ago, twenty-sixth of May, remember? You said you love me." A tear rolled down her cheeks as she explained in half a whisper. "Oh, really?" His face lit up with a smile of mockery. "Where's the ring to prove it?" Lena swiftly brought her fingers to her face, suddenly realising she hadn't left with her ring. She wiped off her tears and began touching every space, hoping they'd slipped it somewhere in her clothes. "It's here, I swear," she said, repeating her action continuously. She didn't know which hurt more; the reality staring right in her face or the pain in her neck, which was getting worse with every movement her head made. Either way, she felt her heart empty out, leaving a painful space that made more tears cascade down her cheeks and blur her vision. "Anyway," Adrian stood up and walked away from her pathetic figure on the ground. "Without wasting anymore of my time," he collected a few stapled papers from Mira and gave her a deep kiss on the lips while Lena watched helplessly. He tossed the papers on Lena's face, and as she blinked away the tears in her eyes, they landed on the heading of the page: "Divorce agreement." "No, Adrian, no, please," she muttered, as her shattering heart echoed in her ears. She quickly stood up from the ground and slowly began walking towards them with the paper shaking terribly in her hands. “I promise I won't touch your things anymore. I can live in the garage like you always wanted. I'll obey anything you tell me. Please don't do this to me." she could feel a migraine on one side of her head. A sickness she never had the chance to cure completely. "Just sign the fucking documents and be on your way, Lena. You're stinking up the place." Mira said and turned back to Adrian, who was squeezing every part of her sophisticated body. Lena stared back down at the tear stained documents which her dirty hands held. More tears dropped. “I have nowhere else to go," she said weakly. Remembering the terrors that awaited her if she went back home, especially in this state. “Please,” she whispered, lips quivering “You really don't have to sign it now. You can take it wherever you're going but make sure it's signed the next time you walk towards this building," Adrian warned sternly. Mira proudly walked over to the door and held it open for her to leave. Lena looked from one person to the other, not wanting to believe either one could betray her this way. Was this really happening? She thought as she slowly and weakly walked towards the door, remembering she hadn't eaten for days. “Adrian." She suddenly stopped halfway through the door and turned around. With teary eyes, “I—” Mira swiftly interrupted “Get out, Lena.”Lena picked at her food, her eyes glued to the plate to make sure she avoided looking up. There was an invisible frown on her face-subtle, but you could tell she wasn't happy. I mean, how would you feel if you found out you had a half-sister you basically worked with as a maid in the house of a man you both loved? And then you found out she was just undercover searching for something you've been with all your life.Lena was troubled-just like she should. And that was all she could think of. She was stripped of the position, and Bridget had given her a kiss on the forehead as she happily took up all the responsibilities that came with it.Though she'd let Lena keep her house. It was only a sigh of relief for Lena-even though she really didn't like how everything played out.'Bitch, you're free.' her mind whispered.'Not completely.'Her eyes finally snapped up. "Are you seriously going to keep watching me eat?" Thane tapped lazily on the table, his gaze never leaving her face. "You
Lena wrapped her arms around herself and tapped her foot as she sat, trying to block out the voices in her head.This...this mess was exactly what she'd been avoiding. And now it was staring straight at her face. But first of all, she'd refused to leave the hall if Thane didn't explain what the hell Bridget was talking about. "Lena-" "Don't touch me, Thane." She snapped, moving away so his hand didn't touch her. They were backstage, and the ceremony had to be ended abruptly so that they could get to understand what was going on.Goosebumps traced their way to Lena's brain, and she couldn't help the sick feeling in her stomach. Darius finally walked in, his steps slow and calculated. "So what's the..." he paused and tilted his head, a frown on his face and his eyes caught Bridget. He turned to Thane. "Isn't this that maid you used to fool around with?" he asked Thane, his tone flat.Bridget rolled her eyes, her legs crossed on the chair she sat.Thane gritted his teeth and just rem
For a moment, Lena had forgotten her anxiety as she spoke with Alex. But now hearing the announcer's voice echo from the speakers, a shiver ran down her spine, robbing her face of her smile."Are you okay?" Alex asked, concern laced in her voice.Lena took a breath, trying to steady herself. Then she forced a smile. "I'm fine. I'm just..." she swallowed. "Just a little freaked out, that's all."Renee stepped forward almost immediately. "Ma'am, we have to go." There was a frown on Alex's face as she cupped Lena's shoulders. "You'll do great, okay?" She pulled her into a hug, and Lena returned it, blowing off a bit of the pressure. They broke the hug, and Lena waved before following Renee towards the backstage door.As soon as she walked in, Darius walked out onto the stage. "Already?" Lena said with a frown, her palms becoming clammy. "Easy there, Lena."Lena turned just in time to see Marie walk in through the door. Lena's cheeks warmed instantly, and she took a step toward Marie.
Lena stared at her reflection in the full-length mirror and took a deep breath for the umpteenth time, trying to blow away the anxiety fluttering in her chest. It wasn't working."Tonight's the night, Lena. You can do this," she encouraged herself, her eyes making an outline of her body wrapped in a black, sleek gown paired with silver heels.Simple, but striking. At least, that was what the stylist had said. And she was beginning to see it the more she repeated it in her head. She picked up her phone, which was lying on the bed.A message from Renee had popped up. "The guests are arriving." The message read. Lena turned off the phone and exhaled, like she'd been holding her breath. Then finally she took up her bag and walked out the door."Sandy, you sure you don't want to come with-" Lena paused in her tracks for a moment. But then she just rolled her eyes and continued to the front door."Oh, come on." Thane said, following her behind. "I was just persuading Sandy to tag along,
"I ordered four. How on earth is there just one?" Lena yelled into the phone, which she held between her shoulder and ear as both her hands were occupied. She held open her bag with one hand while the other picked up things from her table and stuffed them inside.Suddenly she paused from putting in a large diary and frowned. "Oh my god, Renee. Call the company immediately I drop this call alright? For goodnes's sake, this event is in less than a week and I have nothing ready." She said, her voice laced with frustration.A low rumble stirred in her stomach as she zipped up the bag and shifted the phone to her other ear."You know what? I'll be right there. Just do what I've told you and wait for me, alright?" She ended the call with a sharp tap, tossed the phone on the bed, and slapped her palm against her forehead, a frustrated groan escaping her lips. This preparation had been ongoing for a week now and in just two days, it was like they were starting the entire decoration process o
Lena bit her lip, eyes locked on his. He didn't need to say anything else. She leaned in again and whispered against his lips. "Show me." Thane's hand found the small of her back and pulled her close, his mouth trailing the curve of her neck till they found hers. His other hand worked swiftly and pulled up her dress just right enough to palm her bare ass.She moaned as he squeezed gently, feeling the heat between her legs intensify.Lena wanted more.Pulling away, she tugged off the shredded cloth from earlier and tossed it aside. Her breath caught when her eyes landed on the tattoos and stitch marks from the accident across his chest."You missed me, didn't you?" Thane breathed. Instead of answering, Lena leaned in, running her tongue across his nipple, trailing her way to his neck. Thane's head fell back. "Fuck!" He groaned quietly as Lena's hand hurried to his belt buckle. In no time, his belt was off and his penis peeked out. Lena's nipples hardened as she stared at his pink c
