Chapter 27: Ring

I smiled excitedly as I heard the festive music coming from outside of the castle grounds.

However, my smile quickly dropped when I suddenly felt someone hit me in the back of my head.

I held onto my nape and turned around.

"Stop daydreaming, blind bitch," Evelyn said, pushing me to the side.

"You're never going to be able to attend the festival even if you die," Sofia added, causing the two of them to chuckle.

"You're not so sure of that," I muttered under my breath, continuing to wipe the kitchen counters.

I was hoping they wouldn't hear my side comment, but unfortunately, they did.

Evelyn scoffed. "You're really getting brave these days, huh? You weren’t like this before."

"She must be proud now that she's Alpha Enzo's servant. But she must know that he's going to forget about her in two days time—when he's finally going to marry Isabelle," Sofia chuckled.

I continued wiping the counters, acting like her statement didn't affect me at all. Although, it probably did—much
