Alpha Avery I wake to a loud, piercing scream that echos throughout the house. It’s an awful scream that tells me someone is in pain. I jump out of bed and head for my door but one of my warriors mind links, stopping me in my tracks. “It’s Haley, Alpha. I found her,” says Justin. “What is going on?” “Alpha Jake is torturing her. Alpha Avery I turn around and finally lay eyes on my beautiful mate. Her eyes are sunken in and her cheek bones are prominent. Her hair is dull but I can tell with some proper care it’ll be a beautiful chocolate brown. Those greenish, hazel eyes stand out against her gorgeous olive toned skin. My heart breaks at the sight of her burns and how thin she is, thinner than Ashley and Samantha. She is in a simple black cocktail dress, carrying a tray of o’dourves that appears to be heavy for her weak arms. I can tell she is in pain from the way she moves and it’s not from the burns. Her eyes hold a sadness to them. I casually walk closer to her and sniff her. I can smell blood. “Now can we kill him! Haley The last thing I remember is carrying that heavy tray around before everything went black. My head is killing me. I blink a few times to get my vision to focus as I take in my surroundings. Alpha Jake is going to kill me for ruining the party. As my vision focuses I realize I am not at the Red Moon pack house. In a chair next to my bed is Alpha Avery. He is clutching my hand as his head rests on the bed by my knee. I slowly pull my hand away, trying not to wake him. Alpha Avery It’s been five days since Haley arrived at the hospital and today she will be given the okay to finally come home. I arrive at the hospital to find Nick and Ray already visiting with Haley. It really irritates me that I can’t get any alone time with her, these pups better watch it. “We can always order them away from her,” says Spartan. “But then she would hate us. Haley Crescent Moon is by far bigger than Red Moon. It even has it’s own little grocery store. The boys are excited as we drive by stores and an arcade. When we pull up to the pack house, my jaw drops. It’s grander than Red Moon’s house. It’s an antebellum style home that is two stories tall, three if you count what looks like a sun room at the very top. It has gorgeous white square shaped columns that wrap around the whole house with a wrap around porch on the first and second floor. What he calls a cottage looks more like a southern farmhouse that is two stories. These homes must cost a fortune. “Welcome to your new home. The first floor has the great room, office, dining room and kitchen with a breakfast nook. Pantry is fully stocked and there is a mud room that leads to the two car garage which already has a Jeep Wrangler and a Denali truck for your use.” The house is gorgeous.
