F I F T Y - T H R E E

The door bell rang twice before Nicole rose to her feet to answer it. Just as she opened it, she came face to face with a delivery man who craned his neck to look into the house. "Is this Miss Nicole's house?" He asked. Nicole's brows rose up as she gave him a skeptical gaze.

"Yes?"

"Oh, good. This package is for you. The sender deemed himself anonymous." He said and handed the package to her which she reluctantly collected from him.

"I will need you to sign these papers." He handed the file and a pen to her and she did as told. With one last smile, the delivery man got on his bike and was gone.

Checking out the package in a wrapped paper, Nicole stepped back into the house and sat down back on the chair, her eyes still looking at the package.

What could anyone want to give her? Not even with a name? What if it was a bomb or something worse?

She bit her lips and thought of what to do. Maybe she should open it and see what was inside. She reached out for it and began to tear the paper
