"How am I going to tell him I'm pregnant?"

"Take a deep breath, Ana, he'll understand. After all, you didn't get pregnant on your own."

"But he made it clear that he didn't want children. I don't understand how this happened. I've been taking my birth control regularly, never missed a day!"

"Stop crying, Ana. A child is a gift, a blessing. And if Diego doesn't want to take responsibility for this child, I'll help you raise them, my friend."

I hug my friend, seeking comfort in their arms. I'm desperate, imagining how Diego will react. If he decides to get angry and think it's a scheme, I'll cry all the tears I have in my friend's arms while my phone keeps ringing. Diego seems to sense that something is going on because he won't stop calling, but at the moment, I'm not in a condition to talk to him.

I go to my room and cry myself to sleep, leaving my phone in the living room. Three days later, I decide to talk to Diego. As soon as he sees me enter, he drops the glass he was holding on the table and rushes towards me.

"Diego, we need to talk."

He grabs my hand and pulls me to the living room, sitting down and pulling me to sit beside him.

"Ana, what's going on, my love? Tell me everything, I'm here to listen to you."

"Diego, I'm pregnant!"

He stands up, waiting for my response.

"Did I hear you correctly? You said you're pregnant?" - Diego shouts, while tears already fill my eyes. I knew that what would come next wouldn't be good.

"Yes, I am," I replied, lowering my head, knowing that what's to come won't be good.

"I made it clear from the beginning that I didn't want to be a father. How could you get pregnant? What goes through your mind? I said I didn't want children, Ana Paula!" - He continues shouting, while tears fill my eyes. But I already expected this, he warned me. - "End this pregnancy."

"Are you out of your mind?" - I walk towards the elevator.
