Chapter 1

This has to be the worst week ever! I hate him! I HATE him and I'm going to destroy him!" Rudina said through clenched teeth as she stormed out of class. " It's not as like I like him or anything. I felt sorry for him and then he rejects ME!" She went on talking to herself as she stormed out the school to her car. Rudina took a calming breath. She would never drive angry, not after what happened to her mother.

" Hey wait Dina." A blonde and redhead came jogging up to the car. " Hey what happened back there?" The redhead continues.

" Don't start Lana. That nobody better watch his back. I mean I feel sorry for the kid so I give him a chance. Then he acts all big guy in front of those dimwit friends if his."

" Hey please like it's fine. From now on you don't know the kid." The blonde added.

" You're right! If Canagan Artair can't see that then I never want to even see him again." (even if he did have amazing emerald-green eyes)With that the three girls nodded to each other as Rudina started to drive out of the school parking lot.

Rudina sighed as she stared at her notes. She had created a bow able to shoot accurately from an effective range of over a hundred yards. This would mean better safety and accurate hunting of The Lowell. The problem was that the string got worn out way too quickly. At this rate a hunt would take three string replacements. It could mean someone getting injured or worse and just wasn't worth the risk.

It would have been better if they had never signed that stupid treaty. It may have been fair a hundred years ago but now things have changed. Why couldn't they just use guns? The Lowell were getting more powerful and a silver tipped bow just wasn't even a threat.

Tonight was a special night. It was the night she would find her hunting bond. She had hoped to have the bow ready for the occasion. It was her eighteenth birthday and tonight she would declare her mate. She would hunt with her chosen wolf and he would not only be her guide and protect her but, to be her mate for life.

The hunters and wolves had been working together for over a century. They were raised from birth to be part of an elite army. Respect and honour held above all else on earth. Some humans like the hunters who showed promise. Those who could be trained and guided were trained  strictly by an Imperial Alpha.

Rudina walked to her wardrobe and ran her fingers over a beautiful green dress. The neckline plunged and left little to the imagination. She wondered what Hunter might think. He was ninety percent muscle and a hundred percent yummy. They had been dating for almost two years now. Tonight she would choose him to bond with. She loved him in a way and he protected her. It was better then to fall helplessly in love. She was a Huntress and she would have her Hunter.

Rudina held the goblet to her lips and took a sip. Then she said the words that have been said countless times on the ceremony lands.

" To those of past their aim be true. I choose forever and will start anew. The Hunter and Hunted, together we are one. To protect, honour and trust till our last breath is done." After another sip, Rudina puts the goblet on a stone piller that stand low enough to serve as a table.

" My choice and my request is to bond with Adolphus Alpha Hunter." Rudina announces as she extends her hand to her boyfriend in the crowd. She watched him approach and savoured every moment. She had been waiting for this very moment for years. Hunter's only fault was that he hated wearing a shirt. Not something ANYONE could complain about.

He had a narrow waist but his shoulders were ridiculous. His biceps had biceps that made their way down to his eight pack. His Viking-Blue eyes almost glowed as he smirked at her. He really could have been a model. His high cheekbones and square jaw were dusted with the same Auburn hair  that always fell just right. Dark and dangerous and lava on the hot scale.

Just then a loud crash erupted nearby. Rudina looked around to try and see what was happening. As she walked forward, something hard and solid hit her on the back. Getting up from her knees, Rudina saw Hunter run at lightning pace behind her. It was a Lowell! A human turned Werewolf without permission or knowledge of The Imperials. They were unprepared for the emotional and phycological effects of being a Werewolf. Not to mention the physical pain and torment. These factors have damaged humans before. This is why The Imperials are to decide who is strong enough to even train for it.

Something flew through the air and into the piller in front on Rudina. The goblet fell over onto something. No wait the goblet fell onto someone!

The Lowell stood firm and shook like a dog trying to get the liquid off. It was too late and now the bonding had been sealed. Rudina stared in disbelief as a mark appeared on her wrist but not on Hunters. Rudina grabbed her bow and aimed an arrow at the creature's head.

"WAIT! You can't do that you will die too!" Hunter stood between them with an agonised look on his face. He turned to the Lowell. " I would beat you to death right now but then I would hurt my queen." With that Hunter stalked off. Rudina didn't know if she even cared if she died right now. She had just lost the most gorgeous guy in the entire existence of hotdom.

" Turn back you stupid dog." Rudina said to the Lowell, slowly lowering the bow. The Lowell changed form from the rabid wolf it had been. The large paws shrunk to hands as the snout retracted into a human face. A face with amazing emerald-green eyes!
