Chapter 30: The Checkmate Banquet

When I arrived, a waiter at Le Chronos was just delivering the menus.

Isabelle, acting the part of the mistress, directed the waiter to me first. "Lila, order whatever you like, don't be shy. Go all out."

Damian wrapped his arm around Isabelle's waist, gave me a challenging smile, and quickly drained his glass of wine, signaling me to place my order.

I accepted the menu graciously, quietly gave the waiter a few specific instructions, and finished quickly.

"Don't you want to review the dishes I've ordered?" I asked Damian and Isabelle.

"No need. We said it’s our treat; naturally, we don’t care about such small expenses."

I raised an eyebrow and said no more.

In fact, the atmosphere in the private room had become slightly awkward with my arrival.
