They led me downstairs in tense silence, at least until Serena saw us, and fell in beside us as we reached the second floor. "Saxon," she purred at him, ignoring both Haden and I as she linked her arm through his, clinging to him as we walked.

"How was your journey back? We should find a moment to catch up, perhaps over lunch?" she continued, and he stopped dead in his tracks, so suddenly I almost walked into his back. Serena was unimpressed, turning to glare at me, "Step back, runt, watch where you're going," she said, her lips curling in a look of disgust as she looked over her shoulder at me.

I ignored her though, more concerned with the icy glare Saxon was giving her. "Did you hear me?" Serena said, lifting her chin as she turned to face me more, her hand still on Saxon's arm. His face only darkened further, and I simply raised an eyebrow at her. "I said.." she began angrily, but was interrupted by Haden, "She heard what you said, Serena. We all did," he said, and looked pointed
