...Haley POV...The first couple of weeks seemed to be going quite smoothly. Even though Damian had been assigned to work with me, I rarely saw him. I found it easier this way, as I could get more work done. Damian had arranged for Zach to help me with anything I needed. The first week, Zach and I were pretty much glued together. I mostly spent the week learning about all of their products. I also wanted to learn about their current building. I wanted to know what worked for them and what they wished they had. I spent a lot of time talking to everyone that worked there. I always found that the best way to get an accurate answer was to talk to those that actually use the facilities. No one knows best than those that work there. I have found over the years that management tends to have a blind eye to what their staff really need. ...Damian POV...I saw red when I walked into my office and saw Haley and Zach being intimate with each other. Her hand rested on Zach's lap as she laughed at something he had done. ...Zane POV...My brother had been acting weird lately. Miles, my assistant, had been providing me with updates about him. The first thing I found strange was how Damian had pretty much stopped coming to the office. He would normally spend most of his time there when he wasn't sleeping with girls. ...Damian POV...I had worked out for a few hours, but still, I felt anxious. I paced my living room as thoughts of their date crossed my mind. I so badly wanted to go and check up on them. It's not that I didn't trust them, but rather I wanted, no, needed to make sure nothing happened between the two of them. "NO!" I shouted to myself. I won't go there. ...Zane POV...The week went by uneventfully. I was surprised to hear from Greg that my brother seemed to be acting out of character. He had started coming to the office earlier than Haley and would stay until she left. They seemed to be working well together but at a distance. Greg noticed that Haley never once let Damian come close to her, almost as if she was upset with him. Greg had also mentioned that Damian no longer seemed to visit other women. Rather his drivers had mentioned that it had been weeks since Damian had used their services for anything other than to take him to or from work. I couldn't lie. I was really surprised by the change in my brother. The weird thing was that it didn't seem like the change was happening because of the threat I had made to his future position. Rather he seemed to have calmed down for other reasons. I kept wondering if his new behaviour had something to do with Haley. Ever since she's been here, he seemed to be a completely different person.
The Mark 19. Close Encounters
...Haley POV...It's been just over two months since I first came to New York. I moved into my new building just over a month ago. I was starting to feel more at home now. While I enjoyed staying with Jessica, we both needed our own space. It wasn't as though we got into fights or anything. But rather, just having your own space brought a feeling of independence and solitude. Jess and I still met up with each other often. We typically spent our time together going out and exploring the nightlife or having an elegant dinner, just the two of us. It didn't take long for me to develop my own routine. I would make sure to be at the office by 9 am sharp in order to spend time with either Zach or Damian to learn more about their technology.
