The Queen's Doll Chapter Eight: Who is the blonde servant?
The sight of the young queen causes Master Chang’s heart to plummet into his stomach, and he looks as if he were about to have a stroke. The drink cleared from his eyes, and he quickly became alert. “My Queen, please forgive me,” he wails, and goes to fall on his knees, but is unable due to the hands of the guards holding him hostage. Yuelan looks from the pleading merchant to her terrified servant, her expression unreadable. Inside, she boils with rage at the audacity of the merchant to touch that which belongs to her, but outwardly, she looks so calm that the merchant staring at her face couldn’t decipher what she was feeling. Not saying a word, Yuelan walks to Meilin and reaches out to adjust her clothes, but the blonde flinches away from her, her green eyes wide with fear. The sudden, chaotic interruption to his wedding and the impetus of the young man angered the King so much that he looked to his guards, commanding them without even a word, and they understood. Quickly, they rush out, surrounding the young fuanis, spears drawn. The young man throws them an unconcerned glance before looking back to Master Chang, with a hungry, eager glance at the slave beside him. “I will give you all the money in the bag if you give me the blonde.” While he tries to persuade Master Chang to sell him his slave, the King’s guards advance on him, their intent glaring in their eyes and actions. His father flies to his feet with a furious look at the King. “What are you doing, Your Highness?!” The King turns to him. “Your son dared to insult me at my own wedding, and as such, the consequence is death.” “I will not let you murder my son.” The King smiles, a cold and dark smirk pulling at the corners of his lips. “You do not have the manpower to stop me,” he growls.
