After a moment he goes back to taking the samples from my bite marks then blood from my arm. He cleans everything up and heads to the lab to put everything away and starts typing on the computer again. “That’s all we need for today. When the results are in we will let you know. I do want to tell you we will need samples from your wolf as well, just so you can prepare for that however you may need,” he informs me. “Thank you,” is all I can think to say. I don’t know how to feel right now after all that he’s said.

I jump down from the exam bed when the scowly, tall blonde girl walks in with what looks like two dry cleaning bags and two shoe boxes. Shes dressed up like she’s going somewhere special, and doesn’t even look in my direction. “Here’s everything you’ve asked for Alpha, is there anything else I can do for you?” She says obviously flirting with Noah, it’s clear from her tone of voice and the emphasis she put on ‘anything’ but he doesn’t even turn away from the screen. Her perfume takes up all of my senses, “She’s trying to kill us,” Star says disgusted. I can’t help but cough, not being able breathe. Her head snaps to me, if looks could kill this one would definitely do the job. “Thank you Kimberly, leave it on the table. I won’t need you for the rest of the night,” he says still typing away. “Oh I told you so many times Alpha, you can always call me Kimmie,” she smiles sickly sweet at his back. He still doesn’t turn around.

When she realizes he won’t be replying back she leaves, giving me one last side eye glare. He turns around finally and sees me waving my hand in front of my face trying to get her strong perfume away from me. He holds back a laugh, “I’m guessing the Alpha title comes with a lot of fans,” I say walking over to the table to grab my contract. “The title definitely comes with a lot. Not all of which is wanted,” he sighs and grabs one of the bags and a shoe box and hands them to me. “You can change over there,” he points to the corner that has those fabric moving walls like the hospitals do. “Excuse me? Change? Why am I changing?” I ask him clearly confused. He lifts his eye brow, of course, and says, “You said you wanted steak right?”

I’m still not getting it, “Uh, yeah?” I reply. He grabs the other bag and starts to take the clothes off the hanger, “I’m taking you to get steak,” he smile’s devilishly. I turn around quickly and walk over to the corner, pulling the divider along the track to give me some privacy, I couldn’t look at that smile for too long for fear of being pulled into the fiery depths of hell. I pull out the hanger from the bag and find a strapless, sweet heart neckline with a deep V cut dress that hangs down to my ankles. Its so sexy, too sexy. A light beige, ribbed fabric that was breathable and would hug every single curve of my body. The only problem was my scars would be on full display. I hesitated.

“You’ll look so beautiful Akira, trust me. It’ll show your best, what did you call them, assets?” She teases. “Fine, but only because I would never let this dress go to waste in my past life, plus the color will look good with my hair,” I try to hype myself up to feel as confident as she’s trying to make me. I slip it on and realize my black panties are showing through them. Fuck. “Okay Star, now what?” I ask. She laughs. “On or off?” She says. “Well I definitely can’t not wear them right? That’s… that’s not okay. But if I do wear them everyone will be looking at that.” Ugh what do I do, my OCD will hate the lines it’ll cause as well. “You doing alright over there?” Noah asks. Shit. “Mhm one minute!” I yell back.

I take them off, no one will notice I’m not wearing them. I slip on the cute heels hopping on one foot then the other, they’re beige on the inside but had clear straps and a chunky clear heel that wasn’t too high. Perfect. How everything fit me, I had no clue but I hope it looks okay. I pull the curtain back and I’m frozen in place. He’s leaned up against the table as he checks his watch. He’s wearing the darkest navy blue dress pants that are styled a bit looser and held up with a black belt at his waist, paired with a light beige short sleeve button up top that’s only done up a little more than half way and tucked in. He has a couple small chains around his neck and black loafers. You can see the tip of one of his scars on his chest begging to be examined. “Dinner and a show,” Star purrs out. “Don’t start Star,” I warn her.

I grab my wine glass and force down another sip trying to wash away the sins forming in my head. Noah takes another sip before finally replying, “What if I do like you?” My eyes snap to his. “You don’t even know me,” I say, trying to back track already, my breath faltering. “Do I need to know everything about you to be attracted to you?” His smirk makes my heart rate pick up speed. “Those are two very different things, don’t you think?” I tell him. “I think they can also go hand in hand,” he counters. I can’t help my breathing as it picks up pace as well now. “Are you saying you’re not attracted to me Akira?” He confidently asks. “I-….” I’m left speechless. His blunt reactions are catching me off guard and I’m not sure how to react to it. Physically, my body is reacting positively to his words and Stars’ purrs through the bond aren’t helping. “I’ll take that as a yes,” he’s full on grinning now, and I fear I might never want him to stop. “You’re extremely confident Noah,” I say as I

  • Turned   Avoidance

“What else would you like to know little wolf?” He asked in a slightly playful manner. As the one question that forever aches through my soul burns in my mouth, the server drops off another wine bottle and I hurriedly take it, pouring a huge glass. Noah’s eyebrow did the signature move as he clicked his tongue. “Be careful,” he warns. I take a sip so big my cheeks puffed out with the amount of the liquid taking over my mouth and rapidly sliding down my throat. “Why me?” I finally ask. “Why you what?” A whisper of irritation slid through me, “Why did he choose me?” I study his face as if it holds every answer. His forehead tightened, shadows gathering above his eyes, “I’ll do whatever it takes to find that answer for you Akira, but right now I have no idea,” his answer cracks a little piece of my heart, but I know it’s not his fault, why would he know? “I’m sorry,” he murmurs softly as he reaches for the bottle and pours the same amount I did into his glass. My lips twitch as I force

“To be quite honest, I can’t tell you the last time I ever went on a date,” Noah says. “I just thought, after you asked for steak, that it would be a good idea to get you out of the cabin for a night and give you an opportunity to ask me any questions you might have.” The slight rejection stings but I shove those feelings away. They are not going to do me any good so it’s better to pretend they don’t exist at all and definitely don’t act on them. My mind is racing at a mile a minute now with questions I need to ask, answers I need to know. “Is that why you’re being nice to me now, because I’m a super special turned wolf?” I ask. “You have absolutely no reason to trust me. No reason to believe anything that comes out of my mouth.” I ramble on, my attitude peaking through slightly, “So tell me Alpha Noah, why did you agree to have me “audition” for your pack?” I look at every inch of his face, my eyes roaming over every feature. I watch his jaw clench but his stoic expression remains. H

  • Turned   Steak and Flirting? Pt2

I stare at myself in the mirror, I look good. Apart from my scars of course. “You’re beautiful Akira, and maybe with the more information we get I can learn to heal you fully,” Star says. I wonder if I really would want my scars healed now. I feel like they show I’m a survivor, which makes me hate them a little less. “You are a survivor,” Star says. “We are survivors,” I add. “I wouldn’t be here without you, and you went through just as much as me,” I sigh. It’s the part of my story I’ll never forget, but it doesn’t mean I’m going to let it define me. The more I learn about my life, the more I’ll be in control of it. There are villains in every story, but I won’t give them more than a chapter in mine. I quickly use the washroom and let the cold water run on my hands for a while trying to cool down before going back out there. As I sit down back at the table I notice there’s a desert in front of my seat. The tiramisu looks absolutely delicious and has my full attention. “I ordered the
