Michael did the dishes that Friday afternoon while June cleared the sink and cleaned the kitchen, She cleared the plates from the dining table after they had lunch that afternoon when Michael suddenly offered to help her with the chores. She was bothered but accepted his help since she had something to tell him. Angel was watching television in the living room. "June""Michael," They said at the same time. June turned to look at Michael who was also staring at her and then she smiled at him."What did you want to say to me?" Michael asked "I have been meaning to ask you something. My younger sister challenged me days ago saying I love your daughter more than I love her because I haven't been able to spend time with her since I got this job" June started"I told you to take the day off when you want to June," He said."I know, it's not about taking the day off. I want to take Angel and Layla out with me somewhere. I want them to get to know each other" June said "Then that's not a p

"Come on baby, let's get you to bed," Michael said as he lifted Angel out of the car and into the house. "Can I play with Layla tomorrow?" Angel asked in her sleep and Michael laughed and began to climb the stairs up to her room."Yes you can honey but only after you get some sleep," Michael said. He kicked the bedroom door open with his leg since his hands were occupied because he was carrying Angel. She tightened her hands around his neck as he walked into her room."I made a new friend" She moaned and Michael nodded. He dropped her on the bed and then he took off her shoes before tucking her into bed. "June is an Angel" She muttered and Michael couldn't agree less. June was an Angel indeed. Since she had come into their lives, things have been so much easy for him and Angel."I like her very much daddy, you like her too don't you?" Angel asked as she opened her eyes. "That's right baby, daddy likes June too," Michael said with a smile. Angel smiled back at him before she closed

"You should get out of your clothes before you have lunch" June said to Angel who was sitting at the dining table, devouring a plate of scrambled eggs."You should also try to wash up before they get here," Michael said to June and she smiled."Why do you like countering me when you should be taking my side? and who are the people coming anyway?" She asked as she took the apron she was wearing off her neck before laying it on the chair slowly. "The stylists," Michael said not looking away from her. "What do you mean by the stylists, why are stylists coming over?" June asked Michael in confusion"They are coming over to make you and my daughter look beautiful for the dinner tonight," Michael said Dinner?. What the hell was he saying, was there a dinner planned that she didn't know about? "Yay we are going to dress up like princesses" Angel yelled in excitement and June shushed her up so she continued eating. "What dinner Michael?" June asked him "Melissa and Frank's dinner, they

Michael held June's hand as they got into the house, Melissa closed the door after them and quickly hurried inside to stand beside Frank. Angel was already sitting on the chair as she focused on the television before her. "Michael you finally made it," Frank said and stepped forward engulfing Michael in a bro hug. "Of course, I couldn't disappoint, not when we have been planning this for a while now," He said with a smile."You couldn't disappoint because that day would be your funeral. I cooked all sorts of food and you know how much I hate wasting my food" Melissa said "She cooks once in a while so you better appreciate this, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity Michael" Frank joked and they all laughed. "June don't stand there looking like a stranger, I waited for two weeks for this day to come, we will have so much fun together," Melissa said and June smiled before the both of them hugged. "You should have let me bring a side dish for them" June nudged Michael in the waist w

He got into the driver's seat and then started the car. All through the journey home Michael made sure his eyes were on June and Angel in the back seat.
