Elizabeth's POVMy legs shook unsteadily as I made my way to Nathan's chambers. This wasn't good. Elijah had caught me with the boy servant. I knew that our relationship was over, but I needed every edge I could hold on to—something that would keep me here. "Why do you look like that?" Nathan asked as soon as our eyes met. "He caught me with the boy; our plan is over," I said, hoping that I could use what I knew he wanted most to get him to do one favor for me. "I told you from the beginning that it was a dumb idea, he already doesn't like you and you are doing everything possible to make sure he hates you more. That man practically wants you gone and he wants me to take you with me. Which is actually him being generous as opposed to having you disgraced out of the palace" he said and my body shivered at the possibility of that. Maria's POV "And you are sure about what you saw?" Elijah asked me and I nodded my head. "I think we should move her somewhere else. Keep it away from everyone for a while and see what happens. I have tried to tell her that it is nothing but as you can see, that has not worked" Elvira said as she unwrapped the apparatus for checking my heart rate from my arm. "Guys, I'm serious. Maria's POV I didn't know why I ran away, I was too overwhelmed with everything going on and soon enough, I was beginning to feel that my chest was tightening. Nathan had wanted to follow me but I could hear the low growl of Elvira keeping everyone in place. A few minutes later, I heard the leaves behind me rustling a little. I turned to find Elijah behind me. Drawing in a deep breath, I pulled myself together before he even got to me. "I'm sorry about Nathan. Maria's POV It has been two long days, two days of pure agony and heart-wrenching sadness. I could feel a part of me dying slowly like a grass that somehow can't seem to get a touch of the rain. It was heavy, a burden that I had never known its weight before it was cruelly dropped on my shoulders. For one moment in my life, I felt nothing. Just raw sadness and depression. Elvira moved in with me to help me cope as I refused to go to the palace or move in with Elvira. I had initially kicked against having her around but they would not hear of it and insisted that I had to take an option. Nathan has kept his distance and even the mere sight of him annoyed me. Elijah had made sure that he stayed away and Elvira did a good job in telling him that I was indisposed all of the eleven times that he had come to see me in the last two days.
