Maddy’s POV The racing tracks felt like familiar, almost holy grounds. It was the middle of the night illuminated by streetlights and bright lights from the bikes on the tracks. The crowd tonight was insane. The entire town had descended here to watch the race. The biggest race of the year. Tonight was the night of the state championship race. The only race Max, Aston and everyone wannabe biker in town had been preparing for. The winner gets to leave town for the wonderful opportunities waiting for them at the nationals. Max had been nervous about it all week long. As I moved through the crowd, I was confronted by the loud buzz of engines roaring, the thick smoke that curled into the air as bikes zoomed past me.
