Claire hummed before she sighed and said, “The New Year is almost here. It will be your birthday after the first month. Do you have any birthday wishes?” Charlie shook his head and said, “No, I don’t have any birthday wishes. I only wish for good health, peace, and safety for my loved ones.”

I make it short, and he looks at me through narrowed eyes, confused, but I decide not to explain my crazy interaction with whoever that was, but do what I brought him here to do, and take the checkbook from my bag. “Tell me your name, please,” I request as I fill in the other fields, including the amount. “Why?” He asks suspiciously, making me smile. “Because I want to make your second biggest wish come true,” I answer as I look at him expectantly, and he opens his mouth, then closes it, not sure if he should talk, or if he can. “J-James Wilson.” He stutters in a shaky voice, probably realizing what I’m doing, and after I finish, I rip the check and give it to him.

Nothing does, really, except for this moment. “Alright, smartass.. Billion planets somewhere*, though.“ His thumb brushes over my knuckles absently. “Hey look.A shooting star!” *His eyes widen—head turning slightly towards me as he lets out a breathless chuckle. He's still holding my hand. “Make a wish.“ I watch it streak across the sky—and then glances back at him. “You too.” I close my eyes tightly,making a wish. “Yeah.I know what I want.”

Jasmine POV I smiled, my heart fluttering with excitement. "Okay, I'll play," I said, closing my eyes. “Make a wish, and then count to ten," he said, his voice soft and soothing. I closed my eyes and thought of all the things I wished for. I wished for happiness, health, and love. I thought about the people I cared about and all the things I hoped for them. I felt my heart swell with emotion as I wished for a future filled with joy. When I opened my eyes, he was smiling at me. "Did you make your wish?" he asked, his eyes sparkling.

I sniffed again, feeling like I won against the strongest wolf in our kingdom. He waved his hand in the air, and suddenly, a soft golden glow surrounded us. “How about I grant you a wish to make up for it?” My eyes went wide. “A wish? Really? Like, a real wish?” “Yep,” he said with a lazy smile. “One wish. Anything your little heart desires. But make it quick, I have places to be.” I thought about it for a moment, my mind was rushing me. A wish! Anything! I could wish for all the butterflies in the world, or the biggest cake ever, or—

I smiled, my heart warming with joy, and said, "Ok, let's try this and see!" I carefully took out the tiny tear from its resting place and placed it in the palm of my hand, feeling a surge of excitement and hope. I spoke the words Whisper had whispered to me, my voice filled with conviction and longing. "I wish for an ancient Luminari, Male, who would love Whisper with all of his heart and soul, and they would have many children together, filling their lives with joy and laughter, and live happily together forever!" Whisper's eyes grew wide with wonder and anticipation as the tear began to glow, radiating a soft, ethereal light. Then, in an instant, it disintegrated into dust, leaving behind
