Freeda Adelaina Miller P.O.V With the loud noise coming from outside, I woke up in bed. I looked at the clock, it was already seven in the morning and I had to get ready. I'm just repeating the tedious thing to do. I just want to disappear suddenly. My eyes widened again to see the calendar. Realizing that I’ve been here for four months. It's unbelievable that I’ve survived this long in this place. I don't know if I will laugh or be sad. I've almost died a few times but maybe I'm a lucky person.

Robert's voice choked up. He stumbled into the office, standing in front of William. He gazed at William's aged face, tears welling up in his eyes as he said, "I've been looking for you so many times over the past twenty years. But it's as if you vanished into thin air. I thought I would never see you again in my lifetime. Tell me, where have you been hiding all these years?" William sighed deeply, "Oh, how tumultuous my fate has been. I suffered from a severe illness and only woke up three years ago. Now, whenever I recall those hazy and confusing twenty years, it feels like a dream. Thankfully, this nightmare has come to an end."

he whispered, "or I'll show him." With one swift motion, he grabbed her head between his hands. Susan screamed. "No!" I finally broke free, lunging forward— The other me turned. His expression softened into something almost pitying. "Too late," he said simply. "You've been too late for five years." A sharp twist. Crack. I jerked awake with a strangled gasp, my heart hammering against my ribs like it was trying to escape. Sweat soaked my sheets, my skin clammy and cold despite the room's warmth. The taste of whiskey and bile coated my tongue.

Or maybe I was simply too tired of being a grown woman who had to know every password, every child’s schedule, every crack in her own life. I slept without dreaming. Then I woke up at 3:07 a.m. with a dry throat and my hair stuck to my cheek. I stared at the bedroom ceiling for a few seconds, trying to remember who I was, what planet this was, and why my mouth felt like I had just licked an envelope.

"The night your mother died. The night everything changed. The night you first heard the calling." My breath caught in my throat. I had been seven years old when she passed, and the memories of that time were fragmented, buried deep beneath years of trying to forget. But now, in this strange dream-space, I could feel them stirring like sediment at the bottom of a disturbed pond. "No," I said, backing away from the voice. "I don't want to remember." I awake with a start in my bedroom of the servant quarters of the pack house.

Piper sneered, her face twisted in an ugly frown " I am fine” I croaked out as I finally understood what was happening " You don't look fine” the third girl who had not said a word since I woke up finally spoke out "What year are we in?” I asked Amber, staring at her through the mirror. She frowned but opened her mouth to answer my question, “the seven hundreds”

He would just give me a cloth to wipe my face. ****** I woke up even before the bell rang. It was a Sunday. There were no trainings on Sunday. I walked to the sitting room. Tech was already there fixing his ‘thing’. I could smell the aroma of beans and beef coming from the kitchen. I stared at the calendar. It’s been two years since I got here. Two birthdays passed without me even realizing it. I guess everyday did count. Only mama and papa did say a prayer for me on that day. I was now twelve years old.

TEN YEARS LATER. Thunder Rumbled!!!! "Harhhh!" I gasped in fear, opening my eyes and waking up from my beautiful sleep. It was one of those nightmares that never stops coming. Perhaps, the thunderclaps were too loud and must have woken me up as well. I felt weak. I had just finished cleaning all rooms in all 40th floor and so I decided to rest, but I slept off. I made to know what the time was, and i realized, it was just few minutes past' four in the morning, I didn't sleep that long, but that was enough for me.

I didn’t remember falling asleep while holding her. Actually, I barely remembered falling asleep at all. I remembered talking. Her voice. Her eyes. The warmth of her hand. Her telling me she wouldn’t leave. Then nothing. No nightmare. No waking up. No medication. No four-in-the-morning panic. Nothing. I looked at the clock. 6:41 a.m. My eyebrows pulled together. Seven hours. I had slept for almost seven uninterrupted hours. My stomach tightened. That wasn’t possible. Not for me. Not anymore.

Only when the bodyguard came to escort him to school did he finally pause, throwing a scathing look over his shoulder. "If you keep following me, when you're old, I'll dump you in a nursing home." I stopped in my tracks, stunned, and could only watch him leave. What on earth had happened these past few years? The last thing I remember was that I was twenty-three. Grabbing my phone, I instinctively entered Alicia's birthday as the password. Sure enough, it unlocked. But when I opened the contacts list, there was only one entry—hers. I thought I must be hallucinating. I checked again. Still, only her name remained.
