Short stories (like in haven)
She held it against her chest, hugging it tightly.
“I didn’t write those stories about you,” she said, her voice trembling.
“But you were thinking about someone,” he said, taking a step closer. “And some of those scenes… they weren’t innocent.”
She wrapped her arms tighter around the book. “It’s none of your business.”
He gave a slow smirk. “Maybe it isn’t. But now I can’t stop wondering.”
Ava turned and walked away quickly.
She went up the stairs and didn’t look back.
But her hands were shaking again.
