The Mate Agreement

The Mate Agreement

He can’t knot a decent tie if his life depended on it, but to Bibah, it is simply one of her many talents. “Plus, it ain’t my fault half the top pick authors of the book club are racist, problematique, or downright shitheads.” She continues. “I’m just calling them out on their bullshit. The Awoo Book Club hating me for it is simply, a bonus.” Akio nods in agreement. “You speak your truth, Habiba.” Something in the stained glass window catches his eye and he squints, and then quickly checks his cracked, smiley-face wristwatch. “Aw man, I have to get to basketball practice.”

In Defense of a Murderer

In Defense of a Murderer

Zachary looked touched, but when he turned back to me, his gaze was icy. "You're despicable, Annette! I would've fallen for your lies if Gigi hadn't brought me back to my senses. You and Uncle John already tried to put on an act to trick me the last time. I can't believe you still have the nerve to curse my mother like that again! Just you wait. I won't let you and your family's scheme succeed!" Zachary was raging at me, but I paid no attention to him at all. All I could think of was the memory of the white cloth being pulled over Marie's lifeless body.

Shifted Fate: The Alpha Begs Me Back

Shifted Fate: The Alpha Begs Me Back

But even as I thought that, I knew I’d always wonder, and as much as I probably wouldn’t like the answer, I had to find out. Before I could give myself a chance to change my mind, I pulled out the book, my exhaustion shining through when my muscles protested under the weight. I dropped the book onto the nearest desk where it landed with an audible thud. I pulled out a chair and sat in front of it, eyeing it warily. I stared at the title on the peeling hardcover: The Sacred Laws of Werewolf Mates. ‘Last chance to turn back,’ Emrae whispered. ‘I’m not sure I want answers.’

I binged this story in a couple of days, still hooked! Yes there are some grammatical errors but the plot shines through.. still a few unanswered questions, hoping they’re addressed in the next chapters

Unholy Fantasies

Unholy Fantasies

Chapter Two: The Book of Repentance. Ciara's PoV: The lock clicked behind me and the sound went straight through my body like a second heartbeat. I stood there in the sacristy, breath caught, staring at Father Chris. The room wasn’t dark anymore. He had lit four tall candles on the side table, their flames dancing across the stone walls and throwing warm gold light over the heavy wooden table in the center. A big leather-bound book lay open on it, thick pages glowing in the candlelight.

Crestfall High

Crestfall High

"Augustine's dead. Her coven is gone. It's history." "Is it?" the Librarian asked. She opened the book, and I caught a glimpse of handwriting—elegant script in faded brown ink that might have been blood. "Or is it still happening? Still playing out? Still determining the course of events in ways you can't begin to imagine?" She looked up at me, and for just a moment, I saw something in her expression that looked almost like pity. "The past isn't dead, Becca. It isn't even past. It's alive and breathing and making choices for you whether you acknowledge it or not. The question is—will you learn from it? Or will you repeat every mistake that came before?"

Shadows In The Fire

Shadows In The Fire

Let us not question why this is happening. ‘Are we sheep?’ Clarissa asked. ‘Must we blindly follow without knowing why? Without understanding why they would allow evil such as Magnus and Mary to thrive, while good people suffer and die? Is it not our duty to try and save Esther at least? Why must a child die in such a cruel and thoughtless way? Tell me sisters, tell me why….’ . …………

Alpha’s Regret: His Luna, His Heirs, His Redemption

Alpha’s Regret: His Luna, His Heirs, His Redemption

“By my office, under Council witness, I dissolve the Creed and strike its name from our law. Any oath in its name is void. Any ledger by its hand is ash. Any man who calls it holy answers to the pack as traitor, not priest.” No applause. Good. “This is not absolution,” I said. “There will be a tribunal not elders alone. You will hear mothers. You will hear the names of the dead and the almost-taken. You will say them back until they sit in your teeth like salt.” I signed the dissolution. Ink blotted like a wound. I handed it off, took the knife, and walked it to my son. I set the blade at Luther’s feet. “I cut mercy once,” I told him, low so the hall leaned in to hear. “You’ll bleed to mend

MARRIED TO THE DEVIL BILLIONAIRE FOR REVENGE

MARRIED TO THE DEVIL BILLIONAIRE FOR REVENGE

Just delivers the testimony like testimony is supposed to be delivered. The women are completely silent. I can feel them listening. Not just hearing. Listening. Receiving the words. Holding the weight of what I'm describing. When I finish the chapter, I set the book down. "Questions?" Lisette asks. And then they ask questions I've never been asked before. One woman wants to know about the specific moment when I understood that I wanted to stay. Not the moment I decided I could forgive him. But the moment I understood that staying was what I actually wanted instead of what I felt obligated to do.
