When I woke up that evening, I went straight to Alpha Beckett to send my greetings, which was long overdue, but I was directed to his bedroom instead. I knocked on his door, and to my surprise, Adam was the one who opened it. His eyes widened for a second when he saw me, and for a moment we just stood there, staring at each other. “Who is it, Adam?” came Alpha Beckett’s voice from inside—except today it sounded strained. Adam stepped aside and I walked in. I looked around and found Alpha Beckett seated on a small sofa by the window with a blanket draped over his legs. His face was pale and he was swallowing a handful of pills.

His brown hair was tied up in a bun with a rugged brown beard and bushy eyebrows. “I’m looking for someone.” I reply, remaining sceptical of how much I share. “Aren’t we all. Paula, Paula can you email Beckett back and tell him I won’t take no for an answer. It’s that or we attack!” He calls out to his secretary that had collected us from the bottom floor. Her desk directly outside his office. Beckett… “Beckett, as in Alpha Beckett of the Nightshade Reformed pack?” Jude asks acting nonchalantly.

He was just getting started. It didn't take nearly as long for George to die like Dimitri wanted it to. But Beckett was thankful because Dimitri had lost a lot of blood and didn't seem to care. The closer they got to the car, the weaker Dimitri became. Just before they reach the car, Dimitri's body goes limp against Beckett as he passes out. The 3rd in command cursed as he picked his best friend up and placed him in the car. "Shit! This is why we should have just killed the asshole and left." Beckett said as he climbed into the car.

Ariel said quickly. The army commander did not speak immediately. He just stood there, staring at Becca, not with curiosity, with possession written evidently in his eyes. His gaze dragged over her slowly, openly, as though she were not a person but an object placed in his path for inspection. His mouth curled into a crooked smile that made him look nothing less of a pervert. “So, this is her” he said at last. Becca felt Ariel tense beside her but she remained calm. “The precious Luna, Alpha King Desmond’s prize from the battlefield” the commander continued, stepping closer.

Duke stood up on his chair and walked near the window glass of the office where he could see everything, those large company buildings, restaurants, cafes, pedestrians where people are busy walking through, etc. He was busy looking everywhere when his phone rang he immediately took it out of his pocket, his best friend, Cain, was calling him. “What do you want, Fuentabilla?” Duke rudely said as he answered the call. “So sweet of you, dude; you should be proud I called you.” He heard him laugh over the phone.

Christopher could barely meet his commander's eyes. Finally he relaxed his formal posture and looked steadily at the older man who was more than his commander, but who was also his friend.

I smile at her and continue, "there is a title that is right next to mine, but we'll come back to that," she nods and continues eating. "Next is Beta Chris, he's my second in command, he provide support and intell, like the VP of a human company. His mate is Beta Cynthia, my sister. Then there is Gamma Steve and he's mated to Leah and her title is Gamma Leah. So the Beta and Gamma work directly under me. The Gamma is like the head of our Army, he's in charge of warrior training, patrols and guards." She takes a long drink of her water and sits back.

Beverly Carington "What happened?" Becca asked and I looked up to her. "I fought with a guy who ruined my plan." I said and she sat across me. "So you failed the mission?" "Yeah and I have to give back the 5.000$." I hissed as I threw the cotton pad. "Is he hot?" I glared at Becca. "Do you think I care about that?" I said coldly. "Oh come on, stop helping others and have a life! Go out and date a cute guy or something."

I took that as a good sign but I kept my face a placid mask so she wouldn't see my gratification. "My name is Sydney Holt. I'm the Alpha of Alphas. It's nice to meet you, Alpha Victor," a meek smile crawled onto her mouth, "if I remember correctly, and there's a chance that I don't," a frown stole that smile as she glared at our joined hands, "you hated being called Alpha." I dropped her hand. "He still hates it," Saint piped in with an elated wave and an almost child-like grin showing off both rows of her teeth, "hi, I'm Saint, the Big Man's Beta. Really is an honor to meet you."
