I felt Penelope’s hand on my thigh and lowered my arm to look at her. “Are you all right?” I wondered if she knew why they’d been fighting. I stepped away, heat pooling in my groin despite myself. "This is serious," I hissed. "My dad... your mom... if they find out—" "They won't," he interrupted, popping a strawberry into his mouth with casual grace. "Unless you can't handle a little secret." His dark eyes challenged me, daring me to push back.

“Why are you even asking that question? Helloooo, Michael Wayne?” Adrian threw the magazine back onto the bed and let out a loud scoff. “He’s not even that good-looking. Trust me, I’m way better looking than any of these guys.” I turned around and gave him a long, judgmental look, rolling my eyes. Adrian grinned, slowly standing up from the bed. He walked right toward me, his eyes locked onto mine. Without breaking eye contact, he reached down to the bottom of his wet t-shirt, pulled it over his head, and tossed it onto the floor.

Selene’s POV** I stared at the man in front of me, arms crossed, trying to make sense of why he’d sought me out of all people. He looked like trouble wrapped in a finely cut suit, with eyes so intense they seemed to strip me bare, seeing through whatever defenses I still had left. “So,” I began, clearing my throat, “are you going to tell me your name, or should I just call you ‘the guy who wants something from me’?” A smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth, and he inclined his head slightly, those dark eyes never leaving mine. “Adrian,” he said smoothly. “And as for why I picked you…well, you’re the closest contact I have to Callum.”

Cameras flash outside, but Damian’s security sweeps us through. Adrian lounges in the back booth, a drink in hand, his smirk already waiting for us. “Well, well,” he drawls. “If it isn’t my favorite brother. And the star of the scandal herself.” His eyes rake over me, slow and cruel. “Ariana. You clean up nice for TV.” My stomach churns. Damian steps between us instantly, his presence towering. “You slandered her.” Adrian shrugs. “I told the truth. She got carried away. Happens all the time. Poor thing doesn’t know the difference between fun and forever.”
