I close my curls and trace my way in front of the wall-size portrait again. Just when I am about to open my eyes a chunk of pages ruffle over from the corner at my face before it is all but scattered over the floor. Even the pages bring her perfume. He was standing in the middle of what I assumed was a lobby area and as I looked around, I saw shelves upon shelves of books. The wall to my right and directly ahead were lined with shelves, the shelves looked like they curled inwards in a Greek key type shape toward the centre of the room. The wall to my left was the giant glass window. In front of this window was a wooden staircase leading up to a viewing gallery of sorts upon which small individual desks had been set. It made sense to make use of what light was present naturally. I bit my lip momentarily, worrying that books and candles do not make good bedfellows. I said as I continued to stare at the inside of the library. Termites have infected some shelves and books. The light from outside is seeping through the old, hazy windows that appear to have been taken by the ages. There are a few ruined wooden tables and chairs. The walls are covered in a dreamlike wallpaper design that, despite its age, is attractive to the eyes. A few black and white vintage photographs in frames hang on the empty walls. The photographs show many people, some of whom were reading books inside and outside the library, and some were conversing with each other.
