The doors opened behind her. Dante stepped out. He looked thinner, older, and badly rested. His suit was still expensive, but it hung on him as if it belonged to another man. When he saw Serena, his face hardened, and she lowered her eyes at once. Then he looked at me. “Aria,” he said quietly. “Are you doing well?” “Yes,” I said. “Better than before.” His throat moved. “I tried to reach you. Emails, calls, the recovery trust… did you receive any of it?”

Elysia: *Typed her address* His reply came almost instantly. Sebastian: Great. See you tomorrow. Elysia: Good night. Being an introvert, it hasn't been easier for her to communicate with others. Days passed, and everything slowly went back to normal. After the interview, the people waiting outside my home and work gradually disappeared. Not all at once, but little by little, until finally they were gone. I was back at work, and things were good. Gail was back at hers too — she’d been absent a lot because of me. We were both so busy that we only got to see each other once a week. But we had no problem with it since both our careers were improving. In the living room, the clock pointed to 10:30. Dad sat on the couch staring at his phone. The screen was lit, but he was not really looking at anything.
