I don’t normally do portraits, but you are honestly the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen in my life, and I’d love any excuse just to stare at you for hours on end. You also smell amazing.”

he asks, sensing my confusion. “I don’t see my name,” I mumble. “Do you?” “You’re with me,” Reid supplies, moving to step beside me and offering an encouraging smile. “C’mon, I want you to meet some of our Denver allies.” He takes my hand and leads me across the field to where most of the other alphas and their mates are gathered, and I immediately recognize Astrid’s brother. He looks similar to her- same caramel skin, full lips, and sharp bone structure. What he’s missing, though, is Astrid’s contagious smile; he seems incredibly focused and serious, brow furrowed, lips set in a tight line.

When we managed to find our way to the front of the ring, I could see why they were excited. Alex was shirtless, his dark jeans hanging so low on his waist that the v-line led down, giving people ideas of what was in those trousers. His muscles were toned from years of war, and he had few scars, probably from fighting as a wolf. He was fighting two men expertly. ALEX One of them was seated on the king-sized bed, favoring a vape in his hands, dressed in a three-piece navy suit. The other one was shirtless, standing, and seemed deep into whatever he was reading from his phone. He had bold tattoos drawn from his arms to his chest. The last one had a black shirt hanging on his shoulder, but he was yet to put it on. He had just one tattoo drawing, on his heart area, like a comic parody of — is that Cat Woman?

They are scared of the outcome of her shift and rightfully so. Azraiel reaches his office where Theo is already waiting for him. “Any news?” Azraiel asks. Theo doesn’t say anything but lays down a portrait on the table. Azraiel peers down to see what he already predicted. It was another portrait of Richard…this time as told by Alana. So this means that she isn’t lying and this Richard is indeed Austin Jones. Great! Now they know that the white wolf who wants to harm Charlotte is none other than the wolf bitten by a Trueblood. He may not be a Trueblood but he was bitten by one which turned him into an Alpha.
