Alice Hoffman Practical Magic Book Set Novels & Stories

All manner of weird items such as wands, amulets, funny little dolls, jars of unidentifiable items and even skulls of very weird animals which Tara couldn't tell if they were real or not. The whole place was freaking her out and rain or not she decided to leave. But as she passed the last shelf before the door a book caught her eye. It big gold letters on the plain black leather cover was the title 'Sex Rituals in Black Magick'. She giggled quietly maybe it was just a strange porn shop after all. Still her curiosity had been awakened so she picked the book up.

I asked her after she finished. “The book of shadows is a very powerful book. It is enchanted in itself and contains thousands of spells and information about magical objects that no one ever heard about. It is an ancient book, a treasure of knowledge and great asset to any witch" she replied with some hope in her eyes that got me hoping as well. I smiled at her and she smiled back. “Enough talking. Now let us start training before the boys come back for dinner and lover boy stares at you” I felt my cheeks heat up and she giggled loudly.

I inquired, confused about all of it. “I… I don't know, but the book knows…” She got up and took out some very old book from the top bookshelf in the room. It wasn't an ordinary book, it looked like an expensive antique. It had a leather cover, and beautiful ornaments all around the front and side. When she opened it I felt some wave of electricity flowing through my body. “You felt it, right? That's magic,” Grandma chuckled, “This is our family's magic book. It has an answer to most of the magical problems we could encounter,” she explained.

"She didn't think anyone was in here." I lick my lips, feeling oddly drawn to the book. "What is it?" "Something really rare," Alice says. "There are only a few like it in the world. It's called, 'The Secret History of Magic.' It tells the real story of magic. It helps you to understand that there are many ways to look at everything." "Okay," I say. It's starting to feel like I'm stuck in Alice's fantasy. Next thing I know she'll be telling me she knows how to fly.

I run my hand over it before propping it open. 'How to refine your magic: A Complete Guide'. "Hmmm…" I purse my lips together. Could this actually be the answer to all of my prayers? Gods, I hoped so. Closing the book, I flip the book over. Weirdly enough, there's no barcode on the back of it, nor on the inside cover when I flip it open again. Had someone left this here on accident? I tuck it close to my chest. Well, finder's keepers, right?

Next to her was a plate that used to have a pile of sandwiches on it, most of which had migrated into my stomach. “Yes, I want to learn magic. Are there any books that tell you how?” So far I hadn’t found anything other than bad novels and some out of date almanacs. Something along the lines of Magic For Dummies would have been ideal, but I hadn’t come across anything even close to that. “No, of course there aren’t,” she said. “How would a book be able to teach you something like that? You either can do magic or you can’t.” I flicked through a book called Out In The Field, which turned out to be a guide to planting crops at different times of the year, and placed it back on the shelf.

Alpha Ammon was only interested in the current state of the magic book which we believe Mr Smith stole from us, although he was yet to declare officially that he stole it. Mr Smith looked up at the Alpha. "I just told you Sir, that have not sold any of the books. Magaritha rejected them right away. She told me the books I have brought to sell to her, were nothing but useless! According to her, the knowledge in the books was all about basic magic and as such, she doesn't practice because she was above that level. Having heard what Magaritha said, I had no option but to return them to my house." "The magic book! Remember you have not said anything thing about it? Where is the magic book, Man!"

She tried to persuade me but I wasn't having any of those. "Command it to float." I ordered strictly. Janet sighed. "Okay. I hope it works.". "It will." I answered. "Float." She said but nothing happened. "You see, I told you it won't work." Janet said. "Let's go." We turned to leave when Steve gasped slightly. "Look...look...it's really floating." I looked back and true to his words, the book was really floating. I dropped Janet's wrist and I instinctively stepped back from her.

Too hungry. Killian’s knees still pressed to the cold stone, but the talisman’s burn had faded to nothing. The invisible walls around his magic were gone. His shadows surged at once — a living tide inside him, ready to pour out and choke every light in the room. But that same power… bent toward the First’s pull. Like it recognized the voice. From above, the thudding of boots drew closer — the guild forcing their way down. Harlow’s voice carried, raw and sharp:

The children enter very quietly in the classroom. It was the first lesson with Mr. Knudlac for Elizabeth and for many others. "Please sit down," Knudlac told the children. And open the magic book ... on page 4. On each desk where two students were seated, a volume of How to use a wand - Lessons for beginners, Get busy and make it snappy by Paula Brown, appeared for each student.
