Alice Hoffman Practical Magic Novelas e Histórias

"He's burning up. We need to get him to a bed." I turn to Alphana, who has been watching with interest. "How did you know what to do?" I ask, my voice full of curiosity. Alphana smiles, her eyes twinkling with knowledge. "I've had a lot of practice," she says. "I've been studying magic for a long time. I know the ins and outs of it, and how to manipulate it to my will."

A sense of wonder and curiosity overwhelmed me, and I couldn't help but express my longing to witness the magic firsthand. "Freda," I began, my voice filled with genuine eagerness, "I've read about magic and seen it portrayed in movies, but I've never witnessed a magical trick in real life. Would you be willing to show me some of your magical abilities?" Freda's eyes twinkled with amusement, her expression filled with warmth. "Of course, my dear," she replied, her voice carrying a hint of excitement. "Magic is meant to be experienced, not just read about or seen on a screen. I would be delighted to show you a glimpse of what can be achieved through the art of spellcasting."

One can hope. “Impressive, Alpha Allison.” I applaud her, but she doesn’t answer, so I get on with what I am here for. Ophelia can’t keep Bane away forever, and at some point Caitlyn is going to notice I didn’t jump when she told me to. “A warning for now little doves. The magic should not be so noticeable when you are not supposed to have it at all. Just saying. Clever to have it cover the door so no sound leaves. Stupid to get caught already.” Tabatha snorts, while Talia grits her teeth.

I attacked again and she immediately fought back while the old Mage just kept staring and watching us. "Stop this, please" the woman added. "Phoebe!!" the old mage shouted. "He's not on our side!!, he killed all the monsters in this land... He deserves to die!." The woman did not listen to what the mage said... in my next attack she caught my hand and quickly grabbed my sword and thrust it into my back with the sword on fire. "Well done Phoebe, I never doubted you" the mage had a smirk on his lips as he uttered those words.

His words echo. I shake my head and try to get to my feet. "They used a blocking spell on him. It will take a while for him to pull himself together. He is drunk on the magic they used," Libby says. Alpha Mayhem shakes me. "Stop, that will not help, Alpha," Mother Agnes says. "Help me to my feet, please," I ask Alpha Mayhem. I am so weak. I cannot stand it. Alpha Mayhem pulls me to my feet, but my knees buckle. Alpha Mayhem leads me over to a chair in the kitchen.

"No one has ever become poor by giving." -Anne Frank- *** “Well, look at you. Only a few weeks after the first training and you are capable of conducting basic magic already. Not bad for a mere human.” Alphonse grinned as he watches Sabrina shooting light from the palm of her finger. It was an unusual sight to be seen, an ordinary woman mastering the art of basic magic in such short period of time. “I guess I can say I learnt from the best.” She smiled, complimenting Alphonse in between floating. Those were the two tricks she knew. The first was floating, going against gravitation and the second one was shooting light.

I was in the back most of the crowd so they were all looking back to me. I said and stated, “It wasn’t me” I even shook my head to intensify my disagreement. I was sure that it wasn’t me. I can control my power and I was sure I did not do that. “It was you! What the heck? That wasn’t funny” we all looked at the mirror magic and the voice magic. The mirror magic can let us see thing in bigger image and the voice magic is used so we can hear whoever is using that. The Exam Master’s magic is sound and mirror magic. He has two magic.

Lucy's hands travel to the bracelets, where he lets them linger while his eyes seek contact with mine. "Try to summon fire," Lucy says. I snort. "I can't do that." Lucy laughs. "Try." Irritated beyond rationality, I decide to follow his command. I close my eyes to focus—it's a desperate attempt to find those threads of magic coursing through my veins. Finding them proves easy, but reaching for the magic makes me clench my jaw as my imaginary hands strive to touch that inner flame burning inside me. A fierce grunt moves my lips, and then sparkles dance across my skin at the same time I open my eyes. The handcuffs shatter against the floor, and pieces scatter down the stairs.

I said enthusiastic and confident that I can cast the spell without a fault. `Sofia smiled. "Alright but first, go and change into something else and have something quick to eat. Those apples in the refrigerator should do. This spell has a demanding side and that's your physical strength. It'll drain a whole lot of strength. I encourage your enthusiasm but I have to warn you. All magic comes at a price. Just make sure you have what it takes before going along." Sofia advised taking the jar from my hand and carefully laying it on the table.

"Now... now... let's pick up where I left last night. Magic for mind control... Dry a flower of spider lily, and a spider cob, and boil them together. Repeat the subject's name thrice as you add three hair strands from the subject." 'Ehhh? Seriously, this book is ridiculous. Is magic always this weird? What an author... tsk! the author probably published this book to mess with the minds of desperate people,'' says Aileen's mind, but sooner contradicts herself by thinking, 'However, I wouldn't know for sure if it's a real thing or not if I would not try it.' Aileen thought it would be stupid of her to have hope in something little better than a fairytale. But she thought that her options were
