This time, I type “Alice Liddell science fiction fantasy reviews.” The first entry of the search results is of a website called Wonderland. I stare at the screen. Oh shit. Surely not. I click on the Wonderland link, which brings up the website of a podcast that reviews science fiction and fantasy novels, run by a woman called Alice. I click on the About section of the website. It says, “Alice Liddell has been a fan of Lewis Carroll’s bookAlice’s Adventures in Wonderlandsince her mother named her after the character when she was born. Alice loves gaming, music, and chocolate truffles, and lives in Middle-Earth.”

That person who almost succeeded still failed in the end, didn't they? I still felt uneasy. Where exactly did that mute maid go wrong? With only three minutes left on the countdown. Alice spent all her points to exchange for an item called [Camouflage Potion]—it allowed one to perfectly disguise their scent and aura as a wolf Omega. She was gambling everything. "No time to hesitate." Alice looked at us. "I choose the identity: [Castle Laundry Maid (Omega)]. Is anyone willing to come with me?" In the crowd, my usually silent Second Sister, Sofia, raised her hand.

Like a dumb dog, she couldn’t help but think. Louis chuckled. In Alice’s eyes, he truly looked no different from a foolish husky. “I thought I might run into you, but it seems you weren’t at school today.” Hearing that, Alice scoffed, “I almost thought you were stalking me.” Louis hurriedly shook his head. “Of course not. It’s just a coincidence.” Snowflakes flew off his head as he moved, making him look even more like a wet dog shaking itself dry. Alice knew her imagination was getting out of hand, but she couldn’t stop it.

she asked excitedly. "Mommy?" Lucius muttered in disgust. "Lulu?" I echoed, just as horrified. Alice didn't seem to care about the weird interaction between us grown-ups. She eagerly invited me to sit between them because her show was apparently at the most exciting part—something about a talking dog finding a treasure, which was apparently a big deal. "Wow, that's amazing, sweetheart. Really amazing," I said, pretending to be impressed. Alice's face lit up even more. "What's so amazing about the treasure being the power of friendship or some crap like that?" Lucius muttered under his breath.

“Would you stop staring at me like that? It’s most embarrassing.” Chuckling lightly, he relaxed in his chair. “Forgive me, Emilie love. You have put me under a spell I have no wish to leave. I’m not used to seeing you look so…so…” He partook of her loveliness once more. Slower this time, enjoying everything about her once again. “Do I at least look like a lady?” He brought his gaze to her sparkling eyes. “No. You look like a princess.” Her cheeks colored red again. “I have never heard more flattering words.” She presented him with a soft smile. “With me dressed this way, will that make it easier for you to follow through on our wager?”

I heard Logan chuckle. "Let's continue the movie." He said and pressed on the play button. We both went back to watching the movie, laughing at most of it, awed by the little girls. I totally forgot about whatever fear and concerns I had and genuinely enjoyed the movie. I even went as far as talk to the characters and give commands like I was the director. Of course, Logan was just enjoying watching my reactions more than the movie itself. It was evident with how he chuckled or laughed at every comment I make and how his body was now tilted so he was facing me. Al in all, we were both enjoying ourselves. -----------

the girl giggled, covering her mouth with her small hands and kicking her feet back and forth. “But I’m not Alice. I’m a different one. And I’m smarter.” Carmen couldn’t help but let out a gentle laugh. “Well, aren’t you just the cutest thing.” As Alice told Carmen another story, this time about a brave princess who set out to save her kingdom, Carmen was once again swept up in the magic of a tale. As Alice’s story of the valiant princess came to an end, Carmen was enveloped in a strange sensation. It was like a sudden surge of electricity that made her head spin with the intensity of déjà vu. She couldn’t shake the feeling that she had seen this little girl before, but where?

"I do the hunting, sugarplum. I don't get hunted." I bit the inside of my cheek. I had to admit, sugarplum was pretty funny. "We’re hiding in a cave, Alpha. Your story doesn't quite add up." He went quiet for a beat. "You never fail to surprise me with your insubordination." My heart which had been racing for all the wrong reasons, finally began to steady. A small smile played at my lips. He wasn't as terrifying as I’d initially thought, or perhaps he was just keeping up with my uncontrollable mouth.

“He dumped you? Has he gone mad? You look like a literal goddess and I can't even begin to imagine how that anyone would break up with you.” “Apparently I'm not good enough for his ass.” “You want to slash his tires?” She cracked a smile, “God, yes.” We clinked glasses and drank more. One glass turned into three and by the fourth, I was laying sideways on the couch, laughing way too hard at Alice trying to mimic Alan’s voice. She rolled her eyes, holding her glass up like a toast. “You better head back up before he gets here.” “Oh shit you're right,” I laughed, finding it abnormally funny.
