Brody stood on the patio stairs outside the back door so everyone could hear him. “Now I know this is usually done during an initiation ceremony” he continued, “but with the current situation I have decided that I’m just going to do this now. "Very well," she said. "I suppose it's possible that we've just been a bit paranoid lately. But please, Allison, if there's anything you need to tell me, don't hesitate to do so. I want you to feel that you can trust me." I nodded, relieved that the conversation seemed to be over. But as I turned to leave, Kate spoke up once more. "One more thing, Allison," she said, her voice low and serious. "If I ever catch you betraying Evan's trust or working against his interests, I will not hesitate to take action. D

"The bedsheets, the pillows, and the whole decor are unsuitable." My eyes followed hers to stare at the frilly pink pillows which she had thrown on the floor. She actually shuddered in revulsion. I grinned inwardly. In all my years, I had never come across anyone quite like Allison. It was no wonder she was my mate. Usually, most females preferred things of this sort so I had given instructions for Allison to be put in this room. My eyes went over her clothes. They were black all through without the hint of any other color to reduce their austerity. I was willing to bet that she did not have a stitch of brightly colored clothing among her belongings. Her next words proved me right.

Evelyn's POV "I, Alpha Kyle Turner, reject you, Evelyn Sanders, as my mate." Alpha Kyle hoarse voice boomed in my ears making me freeze on my tracks, his voice laced with disgust. Crack! A cracking sound resounded inside my body and I felt as if a part of me was forcefully torn and taken away. My wolf howled in pain but there was nothing I could do about it.
