his rough voice was colored with amusement that had me gritting my teeth.
"When you're being watched all the fucking time being alone feels like a blessing," I mused, glaring at the windows of Miranda's apartment. All I could see was black because none of the lights were on.
"I can imagine," he responded, "but I didn't think you'd trust me enough to meet me alone."
"I don't trust you," I supplied, finally glancing at Daniel who had his sight set on the same windows that I found myself watching, "but I'm not ashamed to admit that I don't know what to do."
