“Alpha… please spare my life. I never intended to run away from you. I only wanted to test out my wolf and see if she is still with me” He looked already fed up with me. I could have sworn that he wanted to rip out my heart that instant but something held him back. Well, thanks to whatever it was, I got to breathe and live another day to plan another escape. Stupid, yes, I know but I’m not about to live my entire life being tossed around alphas and becoming slaves to their ridiculous requests one after the other.

They were arguing about an issue talking down and over each other. “Silence.” A voice boomed. It was their pack alpha. “The pack is getting to a point of no return. The people are sick, our borders are breached and we will soon be overthrown by our rivals.” The pack alpha continued in a commanding voice. “It’s all that selfish woman’s fault. She wanted to be with her fated mate rather than fulfill her duty to the pack.” A voice said. “Maybe if you all treated her with a little dignity and respect she would have never ran away.” Someone snapped back.

“Don’t kill me. I didn’t mean it. I didn’t want to kill you. Did my fated mate come back with you too? Is she going to help you kill me?” What an idiot! Big bad Alpha is afraid of ghosts or what he perceives to be a ghost. “Please don’t kill me.” He repeats constantly. I chased him around some more. I let him get almost to the tree line thinking he was going to escape, and they herded him back away.

I typed in waning moon pack and different links popped up, I clicked on the first one I saw, its title grabbing my attention: RUNAWAY IN CAHOOTS WITH RAIDERS. The Waning Moon pack had recently survived a raid only to discover one of their wolves missing. The Alpha’s son, Adrian, who had reportedly been a witness to the runaway assisting the raiders pack things- steal from the pack. The runaway in question was an orphan that the pack had taken in and looked after as one of their own. It is hard to believe that the goodwill of this pack could turn around and betray them. Goes to show you that there was only so much good a person could do, yet it would still be responded to with evil.

His hand, as big as my head, closed around my neck, and he lifted my head to meet his eyes. "She's not a pet," he growled, his voice a low, dangerous rumble that promised violence. "She's a breeder. A vessel. And she's mine." Lysandra paled. Her eyes, filled with loathing, were now filled with fear. Caelan, the brutal Alpha, was defending me. But not as a human. Not as a person. As property. "Get her to the kennels," she ordered the guards. I felt a surge of relief. The kennels. At least it was a place for animals, a place where I could at least stay away from their hateful eyes and plan an escape or something. At least it was a place where I would be safe. But my relief was short lived.

"Yes." Athen leaned forward and pressed his lips gently to mine, his kiss filled with an intensity that left me breathless. It was a kiss of possession and affirmation, a silent promise of protection and love. I felt his hands move over my body, exploring every inch of me as if to reassure himself that I was really there. Finally, he pulled back, his eyes locking onto mine. "You're my destined runaway mate," he said, his voice filled with wonder. "Yes, my cursed alpha," I said, my voice filled with warmth and love

There’d be time to deal with construction plans later—right now, my pack needed me. As I ran across the compound, I could hear the distant clang of the alarm bells ringing out, the sound loud and urgent. I pushed harder, my muscles burning as I made my way toward the South Gate. My pack members were already there, fighting to keep the rogues at bay, but this was my responsibility. As Alpha, it’s my job to step in when things get rough. My pack might be strong, but I’m the one who’s most efficient in battle. If these rogues wanted a fight, they were about to get more than they bargained for.

Dawn questioned. Alpha states, “They did alright.” Before Dawn could utter another word, her father departed, and she experienced a profound emotion. She had a deep, gut feeling that she was losing her father. In Dawn's eyes, the man she knew, who was so caring and full of life, is now a stranger. The sighting wasn't exclusive to her; others in the pack saw it as well. While the Alpha makes infrequent appearances, he primarily stays in his office, preferring not to be disturbed. “Class, you all did a fantastic job. I'm very proud, and you're free to go.” With a nod from the pups, they scattered; Dawn, disbelieving, gathered her things and headed back to the pack house.

It was so soothing. “Shall we shift?” Alpha Salem asked, grabbing my attention. “Yes! I’d love to. It's been a long time,” I answered. “That's not good. You should go for regular runs,” he said. “Whatever,” Beta Alexander said. “We’ll go back to the pack after this run.” “What about the seer?” Alpha Salem asked. “I can search for him on my own,” Beta Alexander said with a bite. “All right. Astrid, let's race to that rock,” Alpha Salem said before shifting into his magnificent golden wolf.

Damn mutts. “They kept us in cages. But we escaped. We thought you were coming to take us back.” “Who bit you? Give me a name.” I was getting impatient. I needed to find Sylvia. “I don’t know his name. They called him Alpha.” He swallowed hard. I could smell his fear. “Big ugly brute. Has a scar.” “Drake.” I knew it! “Please let me go. We don’t want to cause trouble. We just want to lead a normal life.”
