His presence fills the room instantly. Tall, broad, cold as steel. His silver-streaked hair is pulled back, his eyes scanning like a wolf assessing threat and weakness.

I wait for the sun to turn him back fully to his human form, but he remains monstrously deformed. “It isn’t nice to stare,” he growls at me. Everything is telling me to kill his man, but something moves behind him and catches my attention. I laugh loudly when he steps into the light. I knew he had been mutilated, but this, this is perfect. “Alfred,” Elric shouts at him. “Do you need a hand? Or maybe two?” The man in front of me snarls loudly. “This man is under the protection of King Varyx.”
