Finally, I whispered, barely audible, “I want to leave.” Her eyes widened, shock flickering across her face. “Leave? Leave where?”

I exhaled slowly through my nose, forcing my breathing to steady. That's the next target.

A gasp leaves my lips as I step away from the door. I’m doomed.

” I replied. My cheeks were cold as the wind blew across the tear that welled and now poured down my face. I couldn’t find the strength to get back up and walk again so I gave up and flopped down on the ground. I just want to go home!

It was Naria’s turn to ask, and I couldn’t bottle it up any longer. “I’m not.” I said, my chest rising and falling in an uncomfortable rhythm. I felt like my oxygen supply was almost cut off. She led me to a bench at the snowy fountain. “Breathe with me Isa. One, two, three.” I took her instructions, breathing slowly, I could feel it regulating back to a healthy rhythm, my eyes already stung with tears. “I— don’t —know what to do.” My voice cracked, tears flowing down voluntarily. “I will be selfish to say I don’t understand what you’re going through, but it’s a matter of choice my dear.” Naria said and I stared at her with teary eyes, mixed with confusion.

I wanted to go somewhere, anywhere. “Katerina, where are you going?” Nanny asked, running after me. She caught hold of my hand when I was about to walk out of the door. Her face was full of worry and her eyes pleading for me to stay. I looked away, avoiding her eyes. “I can't breathe. I need some fresh air.” I choked out, my eyes blurry with unshed tears, emotions choking. Slowly, I pulled my hand from nanny's hold and walked away. I dropped at the couch on the balcony, my mind spiraling. I tried to take deep breaths but…nothing seemed to work.
