The fireflies are flying outside in the sunset as if they were series of small light bulbs or stars, twinkling on the twilight. They were flying towards me and I couldn’t help but smile. It’s beautiful. I want to cry! Oh, gosh! I waved my hand and they moved towards the direction of where I was waving. The fireflies were in sync with movements. “Wow…Is this…even possible?”

Shama reached out to touch it, but it fluttered away, leaving behind a trail of shimmering sparks. Shama rose to her feet and chased after the firefly. As she stepped on the long grasses, a swarm of fireflies rose from the ground, like a magical cloud of light. Shama giggled with delight and ran through the field, twirling and dancing among the fireflies. She felt like a child again, filled with wonder and joy. Unbeknownst to her, someone watched her from the shadows, their heart pounding with a strange emotion. Shama, under the moonlight, amidst a thousand fireflies, appeared ethereal. Her laughter echoed through the night air, like music to the observer's ears.

Oh, there was the extra-large moon, too, but I’d gotten used to how uncommonly big it was here in Forest Hills. This was my regular view outside my window, but that wasn’t all I could see. I didn’t notice them until just now, these two points of red light floating just beyond the glass. “The red fireflies?” I guessed. I couldn’t count it, the fireflies flew on it, being the natural light for the waterfall, and it was a sight to see. “They are here now.” I sighed in relief. It was truly a magical sight, I wish I could witness this with Declan and Finn. “I’m glad you got to see this, love.” Luca kissed the side of my head and I nodded. Fireflies are so pretty too back in our Blue Moon pack. Luca stopped for a while, letting us enjoy this beautiful sight together until the sun completely hid under the line of the sky.

Little blips of lights flying all around the place." I smiled. It would definitely look ethereal.

I glanced upward. A light. Small. Glowing. A firefly? No—more. Many. Wings like flame. They danced above the water, then… they drifted toward my arrows. I backed away, heart thudding. They circled the arrowheads—then landed. “Nay…” I whispered. I tried to wave them off, but they did not budge. Then the fireflies glowed brighter—and to my awe—my arrows began to burn. The tips lit with soft, steady flame.

I remembered chasing them like this with Lyric, how we’d believe they were little spirits or stars that had fallen. She’d swear if we caught one, we’d get a wish. Now, it was Gavin chasing them, his laughter cracking open something in my chest. Tyler held the jar while Gavin danced around him, swinging the flashlight like a sword. “Got one! Wait...nope, that’s just a mosquito.”
